Present at the To Hieu Ward Public Administration Center on a weekend, from early morning, a considerable number of people had already arrived to complete administrative procedures. Gone are the days of waiting and queuing; the "AI Employee" robot ( Misa Agent Work Robot) is placed right at the entrance, allowing people to easily ask questions to look up procedures, receive guidance on required documents, and experience the processing procedures quickly and accurately.

Mr. Bui Trung Dung, Deputy Director of the To Hieu Ward Public Administration Center, introduced: The Misa Agent Work robot integrates AI, chatbot, and voicebot technology, allowing it to interact directly with citizens via voice. Programmed with 5,000 questions related to administrative procedures, the robot can quickly provide answers when citizens ask questions; guide and look up administrative procedures; assist in submitting online applications on the National Public Service Portal; and promptly update new regulations and procedures of the State. In addition, the robot suggests the correct procedures and reception counters, assists in directing citizens, and contributes to reducing pressure on officials and civil servants at the "one-stop" service center.
Introduced into use by To Hieu Ward in January 2026, the Misa Agent Work robot has interacted with and assisted over 11,000 people, contributing to shortening the time for resolving administrative procedures, reducing errors, preventing the omission of documents, improving service quality, and building a digital government and a modern administration. Currently, the To Hieu Ward Public Administration Center is implementing 394 online public service procedures. In the first quarter of 2026, 2,349 dossiers were processed, with 100% of dossiers being resolved on time or ahead of schedule.

In the field of education, science and technology are also making strong strides. In line with the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo , the Son La Department of Education and Training has implemented a project to enhance the capacity, knowledge, and skills in applying information technology according to international standards for high school students in the period 2025-2035, opening up opportunities for the younger generation to master technology while still in school.
During the 2025-2026 school year, nearly 3,000 management staff and key teachers across the province participated in training courses on the application of AI and information technology in teaching activities. Thousands of teachers received online training on designing e-learning lessons, including processes for building and creating online learning content through the integration of multimedia (text, audio, video, images, interaction) on digital platforms, and the operation of teaching and learning 4.0; 100% of staff and teachers in the entire education sector were equipped with basic digital skills; and the team responsible for digital transformation received in-depth training in data analysis and exploitation.

Mr. Nguyen Van Chien, Director of the Department of Education and Training, said: Along with improving digital capabilities, the Department has directed educational institutions in the province to effectively implement the STEM education program; investing in and building smart classrooms and laboratories with many modern technological equipment such as AI, IoT, Robotics... to serve STEM education, practice, and experiential activities. In particular, in 2025, the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Corporation (Petrovietnam) will implement the STEM Innovation Petrovietnam program to support the construction of three internationally standardized STEM rooms for Son La Specialized High School, Chu Van An Secondary School (Song Ma commune), and Thuan Chau High School (Thuan Chau commune), with a total value of over 10 billion VND, helping students access coding, robotics, cultivate scientific thinking, and open the door to new knowledge in the digital age.

In recent times, Son La province has implemented science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation decisively, synchronously, and with a focus on key areas, linked to the goal of comprehensive digital transformation and building a data platform to serve governance. Many utilities serving socio-economic development have been effectively and widely deployed. To date, the Provincial Police have cleaned up information for over 1.3 million permanent residents and 41,000 temporary residents; 100% of accounts of officials and civil servants have been updated and synchronized with the national database system. Online public services are increasingly being improved, with 2,198 administrative procedures provided on the national public service portal, including 1,031 procedures providing full online public services. The digital economy has made significant progress with the promotion of cashless payments, electronic invoices, and electronic tax payments. The percentage of households with smartphones reached 96.39%; the percentage of households covered by fiber optic broadband reached 80.6%; and the percentage of people using the Internet throughout the province reached 65.4%.

The strong implementation of science and technology and digital transformation has created a significant impetus for socio-economic development. In the first quarter of 2026, thanks to the acceleration of science and technology and digital transformation, Son La achieved an impressive economic growth rate of 9.76%, leading the 9 provinces in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region and ranking 8th out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide. With synchronized and decisive solutions, science, technology, and digital transformation will continue to be an important "launching pad," contributing to the province's continued breakthrough, rapid and sustainable development, and meeting the requirements of integration in the digital age.
