Predicted cut-off scores for Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2023.

Associate Professor Tran Trung Kien, Head of the Admissions Department at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, predicts that the Computer Science (IT1) and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IT-E10) majors will have the highest admission scores based on the results of the 2023 aptitude test.

This prediction is based on the distribution of scores and the trends in major choices among candidates.

The predicted cutoff score is on a 100-point scale, including the aptitude test score, priority points (regional and subject-specific points), and bonus points (IELTS). The quality assurance threshold for admission based on the aptitude test score at Hanoi University of Science and Technology is expected to be 50 points.

Computer Science (IT1) and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IT-E10) are predicted to have the highest admission scores, above 72 points. Following closely behind are Computer Engineering (IT2), Global ICT Information Technology (IT-E7), and Cybersecurity - Advanced Program (IT-E15), with predicted scores ranging from 68 to 72 points. The remaining majors are expected to have scores ranging from 50 to 68 points.

Associate Professor Tran Trung Kien stated that candidates with admission scores within the predicted cutoff range can confidently register for the university's corresponding training programs.

However, according to Mr. Kien, these predicted cutoff scores are only for reference and to assist candidates in the application process. Candidates can apply to training programs with predicted cutoff scores higher than their own expected admission scores.

Mr. Kien said: "For example, a candidate with an admission score of 55-56 can register for majors with higher predicted cutoff scores such as EE-E8 or MI1."

The predicted score range is based on the score distribution, the number of candidates from both exam sessions, and surveys and calculations regarding trends in admission combination choices, the level of interest in specific majors, and the shifts in different fields and sectors.

The final round of the 2023 Thinking Skills Assessment Exam will take place on July 8th. Nearly 9,000 candidates participated in this round – the largest number of participants across the three rounds this year.

This year, Hanoi University of Science and Technology has a total enrollment quota of 7,985 students, of which 15-20% are for the talent-based admission method, and 85-90% are based on high school graduation exam scores and a thinking skills assessment test.
