The draw for EURO 2024 has placed Belgium in a relatively easy group. Slovakia, Romania, and Ukraine are not considered worthy opponents for Belgium. If they perform to their full potential, the top spot in the group is unlikely to slip from the grasp of Domenico Tedesco's team.

Belgium has had a perfect run-up to EURO 2024, defeating Montenegro and Luxembourg in friendly matches. Their most recent defeat was in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup when they unexpectedly lost to Morocco.

Since then, the Belgian team has had a 14-match unbeaten streak, including 10 wins. This will be the basis for them to believe in a successful tournament in Germany.

Meanwhile, Slovakia also had impressive warm-ups ahead of EURO 2024, defeating San Marino and Wales. However, these were both teams that were not highly rated and did not demonstrate Slovakia's capabilities.

This will be Slovakia's fourth appearance in a major tournament since the dissolution of Czechoslovakia. They have never progressed beyond the round of 16 and have won only 2 of their 7 matches at the EUROs (1 draw, 4 losses).

With Slovakia being considered inferior to their opponents in every aspect, it will be very difficult for them to pull off an upset against Belgium.

In terms of personnel, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is the most notable absence for the Belgian team at this year's tournament. The Real Madrid player has had a disagreement with Tedesco and is likely to be replaced by Koen Casteels.
