On April 2nd, Agoda's 2025 Scuba Diving Deals survey revealed an interesting trend among Asian scuba diving enthusiasts. According to the survey, Thailand was voted the top scuba diving paradise by Vietnamese travelers, boasting crystal-clear waters, a rich marine ecosystem, and world- class diving spots.

Agoda's Senior Country Director for Indonesia, Gede Gunawan, shared that Asia has long been a dream destination for scuba diving enthusiasts, home to world-class diving spots.

Agoda's survey across 11 Asian markets confirms the region's position, particularly Southeast Asia, as a true diving paradise. With countless hidden diving spots boasting mystical beauty and rich marine ecosystems, Southeast Asia continues to fascinate divers with its spectacular ocean scenery and unique marine life.

Thailand is a top diving destination for Vietnamese tourists.

Thanks to its diverse marine ecosystem and convenient transportation, Thailand is considered a top choice for Vietnamese tourists wanting to experience scuba diving. Not only Thailand, but Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines are also popular destinations for Vietnamese tourists, demonstrating a growing interest in exploring the beauty of the underwater world.

In Asia, Indonesia has risen to the top of the list of most popular diving destinations, followed by the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. These countries possess exceptional marine treasures, attracting numerous divers from around the world.

Go scuba diving to enjoy a relaxing feeling in the vast ocean.

Many tourists find absolute peace when immersing themselves in the sea, where they can relax their minds and cast aside all worries. Nearly one-third (about 30%) of those surveyed said they go scuba diving to enjoy the feeling of tranquility and serenity in the vast ocean. This trend is particularly popular among tourists from the Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand.

In addition, a passion for exploring the underwater world is also a major motivator, with 24% of tourists being captivated by the mysterious beauty and rich, enchanting marine ecosystem.

Surveys show that scuba diving enthusiasts are always looking for reasonably priced accommodation, but are not hesitant to invest more in underwater experiences. 40% of participants shared that they are willing to spend 15-30% more on scuba diving trips compared to regular vacations.

Scuba diving trips typically last from 4 to 7 days.

Short trips are becoming a trend in scuba diving tourism, with 48% of travelers preferring trips lasting 4-7 days. In addition, weekend scuba diving trips are also popular, with 40% of survey participants choosing this option. This trend reflects the growing demand for short but fulfilling experiences that fit the dynamic lifestyles of modern travelers.

Coral reefs are the most popular diving destination.

75% of diving enthusiasts prioritize coral reefs as their ideal destination for exploring the ocean. With its diverse ecosystems and vibrant coral reefs, Asia continues to attract tourists, solidifying its position as an unmissable destination for diving lovers.
