The Ministry of Transport has just submitted a report to the Prime Minister regarding the planned inauguration ceremony for the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and Nha Trang - Cam Lam expressways, scheduled for Sunday morning (May 28th). The ceremony will be held first in Cam Nam commune, Cam Lam district, Khanh Hoa province; then it will be moved 100 km to Vinh Hao commune, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province.
Previously, the Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet expressway was put into operation on the morning of May 19th. Initially, the traffic volume was quite low, but after noon on May 19th, the volume of traffic on the expressway gradually increased, with many drivers eager to use the new expressway to save travel time between Phan Thiet and Phan Rang (and vice versa). Five interchanges on this expressway have already been opened to traffic, and many other items such as service roads and overpasses are continuing construction and are expected to be completed by the end of June 2023.
Overall, after 5 days of operation, traffic on this highway has remained stable, with checkpoints at interchanges preventing motorcycles from entering the highway. In addition, the patrol team has detected and stopped several motorcycles from driving on the highway, causing traffic safety hazards.
