Tourists experiencing life at Pu Luong Nature Reserve.
One tourist destination in Ba Thuoc district that is currently attracting many visitors is the Pu Luong Nature Reserve. While in the past, tourists came to Ba Thuoc simply to admire the natural scenery, in recent years, tourism businesses in the district have continuously innovated with many attractive tourism products. Particularly noteworthy is the trekking tour, which is currently attracting a large number of visitors. With this type of tourism, visitors can participate in trekking routes such as the Pu Luong peak trekking route; the adventurous trekking route to Con Soi Island; the Pu Luong peak - Con Soi Island trekking route; and the Pu Luong Heritage route (a route connecting Ba Thuoc and Quan Hoa districts). Participating in these different trekking routes not only gives visitors the opportunity to explore and experience the majestic beauty of nature and conquer peaks, but also to relax and breathe in the fresh air. To meet the needs of tourists, rest stops are gradually being set up along trekking routes to provide overnight accommodation, food, and drinks.
Furthermore, in recent years, community-based ecotourism and resort tourism have been effectively exploited by tourism businesses in the Pu Luong Nature Reserve. This includes focusing on directing tourists to prominent destinations such as Hieu village, Don village, Kho Muong village, and Kit village, with their unique natural landscapes and the daily life of the Thai and Muong ethnic groups.
With this type of tourism, visitors can eat, sleep, and interact with the local people to gain a deeper understanding of the local culture and society. Mr. Lo Van Nam, a community tourism operator in Kho Muong village (Thanh Son commune), said: "Usually, during holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), and weekends, most accommodations here are fully booked. To provide tourists with a perfect experience, we always focus on improving the quality of accommodation services. At the same time, we develop diverse tourism activities such as coordinating with cultural performance groups in villages to entertain tourists and allow them to experience the culture; and linking with tourism businesses to develop more community tourism tours, agricultural tourism, and adventure tourism..."
Over the years, Ba Thuoc district has developed a diverse range of unique tourism products, offering visitors new experiences and contributing to stimulating tourism demand, attracting more tourists to the area. Particularly noteworthy are eco-tourism tours and routes combining river and lake tourism with spiritual tourism. Visitors can explore the river landscapes and engage in nature exploration activities, such as boating on Ba Thuoc 2 Hydropower Reservoir and Duong Coc Lake, and visiting historical sites like Muon Waterfall (Dien Quang commune), Dan Long Waterfall (Luong Ngoai commune), and the Sacred Fish Cave (Van Nho commune)...
In addition, tourists can also visit Gioi Pagoda, the temple of Duke Ha Cong Thai, the location where the first Party branch of Ba Thuoc district was established, Co Lung Airfield Post, Dong Tam International Martyrs' Cemetery... Every year, the district also organizes traditional festivals such as the Muong Kho Festival and the Cam Muong Festival, incorporating folk games and performances such as Thai folk songs, Muong folk songs, and traditional dances, as well as cultural programs with strong local characteristics into the festivals, creating an attraction for tourists.
Currently, culinary tourism and souvenir stalls are among the products that the district is focusing on developing. Participating in this type of tourism, visitors can learn about the culinary cultural values of the local people with specialty dishes such as Co Lung duck, river fish from the Ba Thuoc 2 hydroelectric reservoir; Doc fish from Quoc Thanh area, grass-fed pork...; visit and experience shopping for brocade textile products (Lung Niem commune), Doan Street market; learn about the traditional craft of making super-fermented rice wine (Co Lung commune); visit medicinal herb products in the Son - Ba - Muoi area...
Along with promoting the development of diverse tourism products, Ba Thuoc district also focuses on investing in the construction of convenient transportation routes; directing localities to strengthen inspection work and ensure safety in tourism activities; monitoring and strictly handling violations by organizations and individuals in complying with laws on tourism business, environmental protection, and food safety; and improving the quality and professionalism in serving tourists. The district also promotes the promotion of safe destinations for tourists; coordinates the development of tourism stimulus campaigns with the motto "Maximize product quality, minimize product costs"; and forms tourism stimulus alliances with units and businesses inside and outside the province... This contributes to creating a positive impression in the hearts of tourists visiting and experiencing the area.
