Many fun and recreational activities took place during the recent April 30th and May 1st holidays in the Lam Dong coastal area.

Destination appeal

The April 30th and May 1st holiday period witnessed a strong surge in the tourism industry, with Lam Dong province welcoming approximately 620,000 visitors, an increase of about 21% compared to the same period in 2025. Of these, about 600,000 were domestic tourists, generating total revenue exceeding 1.4 trillion VND. This result not only reflects the stable appeal of Lam Dong as a destination but also opens up clear opportunities for the province's tourism industry to accelerate during the peak summer season of 2026 – the main period for the domestic tourism market.

Besides favorable factors such as long holiday periods and hot weather, Lam Dong has become a familiar destination for many tourists in recent years. In addition to a safe and friendly tourism environment, visitors can also experience a variety of recreational activities, including new attractions in Da Lat, cafes for photo opportunities, music, swimming, and enjoying delicious and affordable seafood in Phan Thiet… During the recent holiday, the occupancy rate of most accommodations in the province averaged 70-80%, with 3-5 star hotels reaching 85-96%, and peak days reaching 100%. Furthermore, over 80 businesses and travel agencies in the province are participating in the "Welcome to Summer Tourism 2026" program with attractive promotional combo packages to stimulate demand from now until the end of October 2026, meeting the increasingly diverse needs of Vietnamese tourists. Among these, beach tourism is the top choice for families, groups of friends, companies, etc., who want to "cool off" in the summer, enjoy swimming in the sea, and eat seafood.

Many resorts and hotels are implementing all-inclusive packages at competitive prices, combining accommodation, dining , spa treatments, and entertainment facilities to attract new guests and increase repeat visits. Mr. Tran Anh Thi, General Director of Seahorse Resort & Spa Mui Ne, stated that stimulating tourism demand is not just about price reductions, but also about improving service quality, building an image of a friendly and safe destination, and promoting green tourism. These reasonably priced combo packages still guarantee a high-end experience, thereby creating a positive impression on tourists this summer.

Summer tourism breakthrough

According to several accommodations in the Mui Ne area, during the recent holidays, the majority of guests were Vietnamese, a rare occurrence. This is quite positive news for the business community, even though the peak summer tourist season hasn't officially begun. With this growth momentum, occupancy rates are expected to remain high, or even improve, once summer officially starts. In particular, the number of domestic tourists interested in tourism stimulus packages is increasing. It can be affirmed that these results have created favorable conditions for Lam Dong tourism to accelerate its growth in the coming summer months.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first four months of 2026, the province welcomed nearly 8 million visitors, a 20% increase compared to the same period last year, reaching 31.6% of the annual plan; of which domestic tourists accounted for approximately 7.3 million. Tourism revenue reached over 21,000 billion VND, a 25% increase compared to the same period last year, contributing to promoting sustainable local economic growth and aiming for double-digit growth. At a recent meeting with the Provincial People's Committee, the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Van Loc, stated that with the attention, support, and resources from the provincial leadership, the tourism industry has implemented many activities to stimulate demand in various areas. Infrastructure serving tourism development has been invested in comprehensively, such as: upgrading and renovating National Highway 1A, National Highway 55 (section through Binh Thuan), National Highway 14, National Highway 28 (section through Dak Nong), and National Highway 28B; Repair and upgrade Lien Khuong Airport…

As the peak summer tourist season approaches, travelers should research thoroughly before booking accommodations.
Lam Dong has become a familiar destination for many tourists in recent years.

By 2026, Lam Dong province aims to welcome over 25 million overnight visitors, generating tourism revenue of 71,500 billion VND. This is not just a growth target; more importantly, it indicates that tourism continues to be identified as a key economic sector in the new development landscape. With favorable conditions in transportation infrastructure; diverse experiential tourism products; high-class resort and entertainment services; and a safe and friendly tourism environment… Furthermore, the simultaneous advantages of the highland climate, forest ecosystems, and marine and island resources are expected to help the province develop long-term experiential tourism product chains, increasing visitor retention and creating more room for growth in the tourism industry in the new phase.

At a recent working session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Tuan requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to concretize the task of "leading the way in communication," creating a peak period for promoting Lam Dong tourism to attract tourists and investors through the "Welcome to the Summer Tourism Season 2026" program. He also suggested developing a thematic propaganda campaign titled "Lam Dong Tourism - Breakthrough in Summer 2026." This would contribute to promoting the province's socio-economic development and create momentum for achieving double-digit growth in 2026 and subsequent years.
