Spring outing and sightseeing at the beginning of the year.

Việt NamViệt Nam30/01/2025

In the chilly weather of the early days of the new year, people from all over flock to historical and cultural sites, temples, and pagodas throughout the province to enjoy the scenery and pray for a peaceful and happy new year. This is also a beautiful traditional cultural practice of the Vietnamese people, preserved from generation to generation.

Spring outing and sightseeing at the beginning of the year.

Tourists offer incense at Vom Pagoda, Thieu Khanh Ward ( Thanh Hoa City).

In the early days of the Year of the Snake 2025, the weather in Thanh Hoa province was quite pleasant, favorable for people to visit and worship at historical sites, so most spiritual tourism destinations in the province were crowded and bustling.

At Vom Pagoda (Thieu Khanh Ward, Thanh Hoa City), in recent days, a large number of people have come here to offer incense, worship, and enjoy the spring scenery. Mr. Le Minh Quan (from Thanh Hoa City), who visited Vom Pagoda with his family, shared: "Besides its spiritual value, the scenery at Vom Pagoda is quite beautiful and serene. The atmosphere here truly makes me feel relaxed and peaceful. That's why I always come here at the beginning of the new year. Furthermore, it preserves many valuable historical and cultural relics such as the Amitabha Buddha statue and the bronze bell tower. Moreover, Ban A Mountain is formed from two mountains, Vom Mountain and Bang Trinh Mountain, famous in Thanh Hoa province, with a very beautiful shape and color. From the top of Ban A Mountain, you can gaze out at the peaceful and prosperous villages. Therefore, when I come here, I not only pray for good things and admire the tranquility of this sacred place in the spring, but also learn about the history, traditions, and culture of this land."

To meet the needs of visitors during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, the Management Board of Vom Pagoda has decorated the landscape and added many miniature scenes reflecting the traditional Tet holiday, creating photo opportunities for visitors. In addition, due to the large number of visitors during Tet, the Management Board is also focusing on maintaining environmental hygiene and guiding visitors to offer incense and place offerings in the designated areas.

Visiting historical and cultural sites, temples, and pagodas during the Lunar New Year is a beautiful cultural tradition of the Vietnamese people that has been preserved to this day. Amidst the fragrant incense smoke and the spring atmosphere, everyone feels relaxed, mixed with profound prayers for the new year. Respectfully offering incense at the Cua Dat Historical and Cultural Relic Site (Thuong Xuan), Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (Ngoc Lac) shared: "Every year, on the morning of the first day of Tet, my friends and I usually go to several temples and pagodas in the province to enjoy the spring scenery and offer incense. At the Cua Dat Historical and Cultural Relic Site, we both visit, take photos, and light incense to pray to Buddha for a peaceful, lucky, and prosperous new year. Furthermore, being at the temple, in the serene atmosphere of the first day of the year, my heart also becomes more peaceful and tranquil."

Mr. Le Huu Giap, Head of the Culture and Information Department of Thuong Xuan District, said: From the night of the 29th of Tet (Lunar New Year) until now, although the number of people and tourists visiting and worshipping has been quite large, activities at the Cua Dat Historical and Cultural Relic Site have remained orderly, stable, and safe. The atmosphere is solemn, management is systematic, and the environment is clean and beautiful. The temple management board and police are always on duty to ensure security, traffic safety, and fire prevention.

Tourists enjoy a spring outing and check in at the Lam Kinh Historical Site (Tho Xuan).

In the early days of the new year, historical and cultural sites, temples, and pagodas in the province such as the Lam Kinh Historical Site (Tho Xuan), Song Temple (Bim Son town), Vom Pagoda, Thieu Khanh ward (Thanh Hoa city), Hon Bo Spiritual and Cultural Park (Hoang Hoa), Truc Lam Ham Rong Zen Monastery (Thanh Hoa city), Phu Na historical site (Nhu Thanh), Am Tien historical site (Trieu Son)... attracted a large number of visitors. Some prayed for wealth, fortune, and love; others prayed for peace and health for themselves and their families; and some came to the temples simply to find moments of peace to dispel the worries and hardships of life.

To ensure the safety of visitors and pilgrims, the Management Boards of the historical sites have arranged convenient parking areas, provided directional signs for each service area, and set up appropriate locations for burning votive offerings. At the same time, the Management Boards have coordinated with local authorities to ensure good security, order, and fire prevention; and have intensified efforts to educate and guide the public and visitors to comply with regulations and behave courteously when visiting temples...
