Before the sacred spirits of the heroic martyrs, delegates and family members of the martyrs respectfully offered incense and observed a moment of silence to commemorate the immense contributions of the heroic martyrs – the outstanding sons and daughters of the Vietnamese nation who selflessly sacrificed their youth and lives for the independence and freedom of Vietnam and for noble international duties, contributing to writing the glorious history of solidarity and struggle between Vietnam and Laos.

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Y Ngoc emphasized that during the arduous years of war, many Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts fought side-by-side with the Lao army and people against the common enemy. Many comrades have forever rested in the mountains, forests, and villages of the beautiful country of Laos.

Leaders of Quang Ngai province (Vietnam) and Sekong province (Laos) performed the ceremony of handing over the remains of fallen soldiers.

“The blood of Vietnamese martyrs has mingled with the blood of Lao soldiers, fostering the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos—a loyal, steadfast, pure, and rare relationship in the world ,” revealed Y Ngoc, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province.

According to Comrade Y Ngoc, the war is long over, but there are still mothers, fathers, wives, and relatives in Vietnam who anxiously await news of their loved ones who sacrificed their lives. Therefore, the work of searching for, collecting, and repatriating the remains of martyrs is not only a special political task but also a responsibility, an expression of affection, and a moral obligation of today's generation towards those who fell for the independence and freedom of both nations.

During the 2025-2026 dry season, with the efforts and determination of the officers and soldiers of Team K53 (Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command), especially with the sincere and loyal coordination and assistance of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of the three southern provinces of Laos, Team K53 successfully searched for and collected 10 remains of fallen soldiers.
