The Bay Nui bull racing festival is a unique feature of An Giang province, a distinctive form of agricultural festival of the Khmer ethnic group in this region of Southern Vietnam. To this day, no one remembers exactly when bull racing originated. In the past, it was called "going to the bull's den," and later it was called racing. It was a time when Khmer farmers in Southern Vietnam, after harvesting their rice, would gather their bulls in the large courtyards of Khmer temples to plow the land as a ritual to pray for a bountiful rice harvest. Then, from the bull's den, they would organize races. The winning pairs of bulls would receive prizes from the monks and abbots, sometimes including a yoke, a plow, a harness, or a bell.

The winning authors will be invited by the Organizing Committee to attend the Award Ceremony and Certificate Presentation, which will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television.
