People complain about damaged road surface
Recently, the road along the Western Canal, especially the intersection between the Western Canal and Provincial Road 825, has been damaged.
Potholes and subsidence make it difficult for people to travel, posing a potential risk to traffic safety, especially during times of heavy rain and slippery road surfaces.
Recently, upon receiving feedback from the people, the Department of Construction has promptly taken action. In the immediate future, the Department has directed the Inland Waterways Port Authority, the unit managing the route, to patch the road surface with crushed stone. This is to ensure temporary traffic, limit accidents and risks while waiting for a long-term repair plan.
However, due to the rainy weather for many days, the asphalt road surface could not maintain its durability, continued to deteriorate and became slippery, affecting traffic.
Faced with that situation, the Department of Construction continues to request road management units to strengthen inspection and supervision of the current status of the route, promptly detect and handle damaged points.
"This road is damaged and bumpy, making it difficult for people and vehicles to travel. In particular, there are many heavy trucks coming in and out to transport goods, so this damage can easily cause major damage. Not only that, the damaged road also poses many potential risks of traffic accidents," said Mr. Le Van Duong, a resident living near the road.
A representative of the Department of Construction said that they have requested the Inland Waterways Port Authority to organize regular maintenance and promptly patch up potholes to prevent accidents due to degraded road surfaces.
In addition, long-term repair options are also being researched and implemented in the near future.
According to people, the damaged road surface poses many potential traffic accident risks.
According to the plan, in the long term, the Department of Construction is carrying out a major repair project for the road section at the intersection between the Tay Canal and DT825.
The repair plan will use cement concrete structure to increase durability, suitable for weather conditions and traffic volume regularly passing through this area.
This is a fundamental solution to improve traffic infrastructure, ensuring safety and smooth traffic for people traveling on important roads along the canal./.
