On October 9, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health visited and encouraged nurse T., who was assaulted while treating a patient. The nurse's health is currently stable but still needs to be monitored.

The representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health emphasized that nurses and all medical staff are those who carry out the duty of caring for, treating and protecting people's health. They deserve to be respected by society and protected by the law.

Assaults on medical staff not only cause physical and mental harm to the victim but also undermine trust in the team, negatively affecting the quality of patient care.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health strongly condemns all acts of violence against medical staff. At the same time, it requests that the authorities promptly investigate and strictly handle the case according to the law to protect a safe hospital environment.

The Ho Chi Minh City health sector also calls on patients and their relatives to share, sympathize and accompany the medical team - those who are dedicated day and night to taking care of people's health.

In the coming time, the Department of Health will continue to coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Police and relevant agencies to build a safe hospital environment for both medical staff and patients, creating conditions for doctors and nurses to work with peace of mind and contribute to the cause of caring for and protecting people's health.

Previously, at around 9pm on October 7, at the Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department of Vung Tau General Hospital, the on-duty team discovered that patient NTS had signs of cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest. Doctor Nguyen Van Le and his team quickly performed CPR for nearly 20 minutes, but the patient's condition did not improve, and the prognosis was poor.

While continuing the emergency, the nurse on duty called the patient's family to inform them of the situation. At 9:36 p.m., a man identified as the patient's relative came to the hospital room. Before the doctor could explain, this man loudly cursed and insulted the on-duty team, then repeatedly hit nurse Th. in the head - the person who was carrying out the patient's medical orders. The incident was reported to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health and Phuoc Thang Ward Police for handling according to regulations.
