PERSOL publishes 2025 Human Resources Report, showing many new perspectives on businesses' human resources needs

PERSOL has just released the Human Resources 2025 Report, highlighting five trends reshaping the employment landscape in Vietnam and the APAC region, based on survey results from 12 markets and four key industries: manufacturing, consumer goods, professional services and supply chain.

As digital skills such as data analytics, AI, hybrid skills and ESG understanding become scarce, workers are shifting their focus to flexible environments, development opportunities and long-term career orientation.

Vietnam is emerging as the fastest-growing digital recruitment market in Southeast Asia, driven by surging demand for talent in e-commerce, omnichannel retail and data-driven marketing.

As a result, businesses are looking for candidates who are both tech-savvy and have a good understanding of business and operations. At the same time, job seekers are becoming more like “consumers”. They expect a mobile-optimized application process and transparent compensation information. These changes force businesses to rethink their entire recruitment process and how they communicate their employer brand values.

The HR 2025 report finds that many businesses continue to face a shortage of high-quality talent, with demand for digital, data analytics and flexible skills growing much faster than supply in most major markets. At the same time, ESG knowledge and compliance are becoming important recruitment criteria, as organizations must meet increasing sustainability requirements.

Younger generations of workers, especially Gen Z and Gen Y, continue to change the value scale in the workplace. They prioritize flexibility, social responsibility, meaningful work and opportunities for personal development. According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), Asia- Pacific continues to be the region with the fastest growth in employment in the world. This shows that businesses need to adjust their human resources strategies to meet new expectations of workers.

Mr. Elvin Tan, Regional Director and Head of Operations, shared: “The human resource market in the region is entering an important period of transformation. The current human resource problem is no longer a lack of people, but the ability to adapt. Enterprises that know how to harmonize technology investment, cultural understanding and building a value-based recruitment strategy will have an advantage to develop sustainably in the next phase.”
