Hai Phong aims for 100% of village cultural houses and residential areas to have high-speed internet by 2030

Hai Phong City People's Committee has just issued a plan to develop digital infrastructure in the area for the period 2026 - 2030, with the goal that by 2030, 100% of village cultural houses, residential areas, commune centers, wards, and special zones will have free high-speed wifi internet connection.

This is one of the contents specifying Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; and the Digital Infrastructure Strategy to 2025, with a vision to 2030 according to Decision No. 1132/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

Hai Phong City People's Committee aims to develop digital infrastructure based on the principles of "modernity, synchronization, security, safety, efficiency, and avoiding waste".

The plan defines the development of digital infrastructure based on the principles of modernity, synchronization, safety, efficiency, avoiding waste, aiming to build a digital economy , digital society, and digital government in Hai Phong. Digital infrastructure must have super large capacity, super wide bandwidth, green - smart - open - sustainable, meeting the needs of socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security.

Specific goals by 2030, the city aims to:

- 100% of users have the ability to access fiber optic internet with speeds of 1Gbps or higher and have access to safe and secure solutions;

- 100% of adults have smartphones and citizen email accounts;

- Popularize security and safety services such as surveillance cameras, fire warnings, and care for the elderly and children at homes and on main roads;

- 100% of village cultural houses, residential areas, commune, ward and special zone centers have free wifi with high-speed internet connection;

- 5G mobile network coverage to 100% of the population.

The city also sets a goal of mastering a number of strategic technologies, including: artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), big data, cloud computing, blockchain, semiconductor technology, quantum, nano, new generation mobile information (5G, 6G)...

To implement, Hai Phong identified 5 key tasks and 7 specific groups of solutions, focusing on synchronous development of telecommunications - internet infrastructure, data infrastructure, physical - digital infrastructure, digital utilities and digital technology, creating favorable conditions for businesses of all economic sectors to participate in investment.
