Not only residents living along the route, but also many people who frequently travel through it are pleased because traffic is much more convenient and smoother than before.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, a resident of Tu Thong neighborhood, Tu Minh ward, said that the road is almost completed, and the area's appearance has changed significantly. Along with the project's implementation, many households have renovated their houses, opened more shops, restaurants, and services to cater to workers and passersby.
"The people are very excited because the road not only facilitates travel but also creates opportunities for business development and increases the land value of the area," Mr. Hoa shared.
Many drivers who frequently travel through this area are also happy because they no longer have to detour through the Dai An Industrial Zone or An Dinh road to get to the Binh Giang and Cam Giang (formerly) areas and vice versa as before.
Mr. Nguyen Van Kien, residing in Hai Duong ward and frequently driving a delivery truck through the area, said that previously, to get to Binh Giang or Cam Giang, he had to detour through Dai An Industrial Park, which was both far and time-consuming, and often congested during peak hours due to the large number of container trucks and workers.

"Since the Vu Cong Dan road was widened and opened, travel has become much more convenient. Now, you can go straight to Binh Giang or Cam Giang, significantly shortening travel time and making goods transportation easier," said Mr. Kien.
Along with changes in infrastructure and urban landscape, the real estate market in Tu Minh ward has also seen positive developments, especially the market for worker accommodation. However, Mr. Nguyen Viet Anh, a real estate broker in Tu Minh ward, believes caution is needed to avoid a situation where land prices are pushed up too quickly due to speculation and anticipation of future planning, which could create localized "booms".
Expanding the scope of development
The Vu Cong Dan road renovation and expansion project has a total investment of over 1,042 billion VND, a length of 1.62 km, a width of 33 m, and passes through the Xuan Duong, Thuong Dat, and Tu Thong residential areas in Tu Minh ward.
The project, which commenced in 2023, is divided into two phases. The implementation process faced numerous difficulties due to some households not agreeing with the compensation and resettlement plan. Following the review of land records by the local authorities at both levels, the People's Committee of Tu Minh Ward actively conducted outreach and persuasion efforts, resulting in the remaining households agreeing to hand over the land.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Sam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tu Minh Ward, after the land was cleared, the construction unit accelerated the construction progress. To date, the road is almost completed and is currently open for temporary use by residents.

“The Vu Cong Dan Road Renovation and Expansion Project is a key transportation project that contributes to increasing regional connectivity, promoting urban development, logistics, industry, and services in the ward and surrounding areas,” Ms. Sam said.
Along with completing the road project, the local authorities always prioritize listening to and incorporating the legitimate opinions and suggestions of the people. After receiving feedback from residents of Tu Thong area, the People's Committee of Tu Minh ward coordinated with specialized agencies to review and adjust the traffic organization plan, creating favorable conditions for travel, trade, and service development.
Accordingly, the authorities have agreed to expand the median strip at Km2+710 with a width of 15m, at the intersection of Vu Cong Dan and Do Thien Thu roads, ensuring the passage of passenger cars; trucks and buses are prohibited from turning left or making U-turns in the area where the median strip is expanded. A complete system of road markings, traffic signs, and flashing yellow lights will be added to enhance traffic safety.
Ms. Sam stated that the comprehensive improvement of infrastructure and traffic organization on Vu Cong Dan road will not only facilitate easier travel for residents but also create further impetus for urban development, services, and the local economy in the future.
It is evident that the Vu Cong Dan road renovation and expansion project not only expands traffic space but also creates new momentum for Tu Minh ward to develop in the direction of urban-industrial-service. With synchronized infrastructure investment, along with the advantage of being close to Dai An Industrial Park, this area is gradually becoming a dynamic development point in western Hai Phong .
