On the morning of June 19th, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training officially announced the results of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year. According to the score distribution, English had the highest number of candidates achieving a perfect score, with 1,707 students. This was followed by Mathematics with 49 students achieving a perfect score.

In Literature alone, only one candidate achieved the highest score of 9.5 points.

Specifically, for Literature, 9,182 candidates achieved a score of 7, which is the highest score. Following that, 8,168 candidates scored 6.5.
The number of candidates who scored between 7.5 and 8.75 in Literature was over 31,000. Specifically, 197 students achieved a score of 9, and 20 students achieved a score of 9.25.

In Mathematics, 49 students scored 10. 560 papers scored 9 or higher. The remaining papers, over 50%, scored below average.

In the Foreign Language subject (primarily English), approximately 1,700 candidates achieved perfect scores, lower than the more than 2,100 from last year. In addition, over 14,700 students scored 9 or higher.
Deadline for submitting appeals
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, after receiving their exam scores, candidates wishing to appeal their results can submit an application at their junior high school between June 21 and 24, and receive the results on June 30.
The Department of Education plans to announce the cutoff scores for specialized and integrated 10th-grade classes on June 24th. The cutoff scores for regular (mass) 10th-grade classes and the list of admitted students will be announced on July 10th.

The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City took place on June 6-7 with over 98,000 candidates. The total number of places available in public high schools is approximately 77,300.
The admission score for the regular program is the sum of the scores of the three subjects: Literature, Mathematics, and Foreign Language, plus any priority points (if applicable). Candidates must take all three exams, not violate regulations, and not receive a failing grade (0 points).
