On the afternoon of June 15, EVN announced that Mr. Tran Dinh Nhan, General Director of EVN, had decided to temporarily assign Mr. Vu Xuan Khu to perform the duties and responsibilities of Director A0 from June 15 until a replacement decision is made by the competent authority.

Regarding the temporary suspension of Director A0, EVN said that the current electricity supply situation is at its peak, facing many difficulties; the operation of the power system requires high concentration and continuous stressful work.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is conducting a specialized inspection on the management and operation of electricity supply for a period of about 2.5 years, requiring the preparation of documents and direct reporting, which also generates a huge amount of work.
Therefore, to focus on serving the specialized inspection work on power supply management and operation, EVN has decided to temporarily suspend the position of Director A0.
Previously, on June 14, EVN General Director issued Decision 603 temporarily suspending Mr. Nguyen Duc Ninh from the position of Director A0.
Following the direction of the Prime Minister , starting from June 10, the specialized inspection team of the Ministry of Industry and Trade has deployed specialized inspection work at EVN and related units in the management and supply of electricity, during the period from January 1, 2021 to June 1, 2023.
The specialized inspection team includes leaders of the following units: Electricity Regulatory Authority, Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority, Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment Authority, Legal Department, Ministry Inspectorate, Planning and Finance Department, Oil, Gas and Coal Department. The inspection will take place over 30 days, including holidays.
Previously, on June 9, working with the inspection team, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said that in recent days there had been disruptions in power supply, affecting business production and people's lives.
Since the end of 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued many directive documents and held many meetings related to this year's electricity supply, such as the chart of coal, oil, and gas supply for electricity production and the electricity supply plan.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has directed the implementation of coal supply for thermal power plants, contributing to improving the electricity supply situation. However, Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien emphasized that for any reason of electricity shortage, it is necessary to clarify the cause and find a solution in the near future.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien requested the inspection team to clarify the supply and proactive provision of fuel for power plants; operation of the power system; mobilization of power sources (technically), fairness; power transmission issues; and implementation of mobilization of transitional renewable energy sources.
