To ensure a safe, continuous, and stable electricity supply for the people of Hanoi during the celebrations of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026) and the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026), Hanoi Power Corporation (EVNHANOI) has proactively developed and implemented comprehensive power system operation plans, ready to respond to any situation.

Accordingly, EVNHANOI will not implement any power outages or reductions for grid repair and renovation from 0:00 on April 29th to 24:00 on May 2nd, 2026. In particular, at locations hosting major political , cultural, artistic, and entertainment events in the capital city, the unit has developed a highly reliable priority power supply plan.

According to forecasts, the city's electricity load during this period could reach a peak of approximately 5,140 MW, with consumption reaching up to 95 million kWh/day. Facing this increased demand, EVNHANOI has instructed all its affiliated units to prepare their power sources, grids, and personnel to meet operational requirements in all situations.

Specifically, the Corporation does not implement power outages or reductions for grid repairs and upgrades during peak holiday periods, and simultaneously develops flexible power supply methods for key areas. Important locations are supplied with power from two independent grid sources or have backup generators, ensuring uninterrupted power supply even in the event of a malfunction.

Notably, in central areas such as Hoan Kiem Lake and its surroundings – where many festival activities are concentrated – the power system is arranged with multiple backup plans. Substations such as Trang Thi, Dinh Le, Cau Go, Luong Van Can… all have backup plans combined with backup generators. At the August Revolution Square, power is supplied from the Grand Theatre substation with an automatic transfer switch (ATS) system and a 1000 kVA generator, ready to maintain continuous power supply for major events.

Similarly, large-scale areas such as My Dinh National Stadium are guaranteed electricity from two independent medium-voltage sources, along with a large-capacity backup generator system (2x1000 kVA). Key cultural sites such as the Temple of Literature, Thu Le Park, Thong Nhat Park, etc., are all supplied with electricity from multiple substations with proactive power switching, minimizing the risk of power supply interruptions.

EVNHANOI deployed a 24/7 operational and maintenance workforce with nearly 5,500 shifts throughout the holiday. Substations, cable lines, and critical power lines were inspected and patrolled to detect and promptly address potential incidents. Simultaneously, the unit prepared sufficient spare parts, equipment, and generators ready for replacement if needed.

Inspections of power grid safety corridors have also been intensified, especially in densely populated areas and event venues. EVNHANOI is working closely with local authorities to ensure that no violations occur that could affect the operation of the power system.

In addition, EVNHANOI advises people to raise their awareness of safe electricity use during the holiday: Do not fly kites, balloons, or sky lanterns near power lines; do not light firecrackers or use flying devices near electrical installations; check your home's electrical system, and use appliances with clear origins and appropriate power ratings to minimize the risk of short circuits and fires.

Upon detecting any electrical safety violations or electrical incidents, customers should promptly notify the EVNHANOI Customer Care Center via the hotline 19001288 (available 24/7) for quick assistance.

With thorough preparation and a high level of proactiveness, EVNHANOI aims to ensure a safe and stable electricity supply, contributing to the successful serving of political, social, and recreational activities for the people during the country's important holidays.
