The investigation also focused on fan complaints about misleading seating charts. Many fans reported not receiving their desired seats after purchasing tickets. FIFA was also accused of creating an additional "front row" ticket category with significantly higher prices after the initial ticket sales.

"Being honest about ticket sales isn't that difficult," Davenport stated. "But FIFA is making fans pay dearly with chaos and exorbitant fees."

FIFA President Infantino remains steadfast in his decision to sell tickets at high prices.

The wave of criticism even reached the White House. President Donald Trump admitted surprise at the World Cup ticket prices and expressed concern that working-class Americans would not be able to afford to attend. Trump said he would be "disappointed" if his supporters couldn't watch the US team play in person.

Meanwhile, FIFA continues to defend its ticket pricing policy. President Gianni Infantino argues that the high prices reflect strong demand from fans worldwide.

The 2026 World Cup will kick off on June 11th in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. However, just days before the tournament, pressure on FIFA is mounting as controversies surrounding ticket prices and the spectator experience continue to erupt.
