After the first leg, Turkish team Galatasaray held a significant advantage with a 5-2 victory over Juventus. Despite being considered the stronger team and having home advantage, not many people believed Juventus would be able to successfully stage a comeback.

And that happened, but in a rather painful way.

In the 37th minute, Manuel Locatelli successfully converted a penalty, giving Juventus a 1-0 lead. Just as hope was kindled for Juventus, the Italian team suffered a shock at the start of the second half when Lloyd Kelly received a direct red card after a brutal foul on Alper Yilmaz of Galatasaray.

Playing with ten men, it seemed like everything was over for Juventus, but the "Old Lady" pulled off a surprise by scoring two consecutive goals thanks to Federico Gatti (70th minute) and Weston McKennie (80th minute).

At this point, the score was 3-0 in favor of Juventus, and the aggregate score after two legs was 5-5.

Many European football experts who witnessed the match between Galatasaray and Juventus expressed surprise at the events on the field, especially the way Galatasaray played poorly after gaining a man advantage at the start of the second half.

With no further goals scored, the two teams went into extra time. There, Galatasaray capitalized on their numerical advantage and the fatigue of their opponents to score two consecutive goals through Victor Osimhen (105+1 minute) and Baris Alper Yilmaz (119th minute), ending the second leg of the play-off with a 2-3 defeat.

Juventus, playing with 10 men against 11, did have a few chances to threaten the Turkish goal in extra time. However, overall, due to fatigue, they moved with heavy strides and repeatedly made mistakes in their finishing.

Despite a spirited performance in the second leg, the Italian team were generally no better than Galatasaray and deserved to be eliminated with an aggregate score of 5-7 after two legs.
