In India, within just 28 hours of their launch, the Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 had over 100,000 pre-orders, nearly double the pre-orders for their predecessors, the Z Fold4 and Z Flip4. Samsung announced that they began accepting pre-orders on July 27th and the products will start shipping in India on August 18th.
“We are pleased that the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 have been so well received in India. These new devices reflect the company’s commitment to meeting customer needs through the latest technologies,” said JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia.
Samsung unveiled its two newest foldable phones at the Galaxy Unpacked event held in Seoul on July 26th. The flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip is considered the most significant upgrade for the Fold5 and Flip5 compared to their predecessors.
In addition, the South Korean electronics manufacturer also incorporated a new hinge technology (Flex Hinge) into both products, completely eliminating the screen gap when the user folds the device.
In terms of internal storage, the Z Flip5 is equipped with 256GB of memory, along with a new 3.4-inch external screen, significantly larger than the 1.9-inch screen of the Flip4. According to Samsung, the launch of the Galaxy Z series 5 has generated a wave of discussion in technology communities and forums. The Flip5 series, in particular, has seen a 50% increase in orders compared to its predecessor.
With the Z Fold5, the South Korean giant positions the device as a productivi-hub, featuring a 7.6-inch AMOLED main display and a 6.2-inch external display with HD+ resolution; both screens of the Fold5 have a 120Hz refresh rate.
Additionally, both products are water-resistant with an IPX8 rating, feature an Armor Aluminum frame, and utilize Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 tempered glass.
