4cm long leech found living in man's nose

On the afternoon of May 22, Ky Anh Town General Hospital (Ha Tinh Province) announced that it had successfully removed a leech about 4cm long that was still living in a man's nose.

The patient, Mr. HVT (43 years old, residing in Lam Hop commune, Ky Anh district), was hospitalized with pain, itching, and prolonged bleeding from the left nose. Five days before, the patient went to the forest and bathed in a stream, after which unusual symptoms appeared.

Through examination and endoscopy at the ENT department, doctors discovered a live leech about 4cm long moving in the left nostril. Immediately, the foreign object was safely removed from the patient's nose.
