The patient is Mr. PTT (43 years old, residing in Ca Mau province), who was hospitalized with a persistent cough, phlegm, chest tightness, and difficulty breathing. Previously, Mr. T. had been examined in many places, was diagnosed with bronchial asthma, and had self-treated with inhalers and aerosols for a long time.

At Can Tho Central General Hospital, the chest CT scan showed a solid lesion in the lower lobe of the right lung, with a suspected foreign body in the bronchus. The patient was then indicated for a flexible bronchoscopy.

The patient is now stable after surgery.

After about 20 minutes of surgery, the medical team removed the foreign object, a sapodilla seed measuring 8 x 17mm, located in the lower lobe bronchus of the right lung. The patient's health is now stable and he is recovering well.

Mr. T. said that more than 10 years ago, he choked while eating sapote, then coughed for a few days and then stopped so he did not go to the doctor. Later, he had a persistent cough and wheezing, but he was subjective, thinking it was asthma so he did not check it carefully.
