Gia Lai: Body of drowned child found

On October 5, Mr. Le Tien Manh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Pa commune, Gia Lai province, said that the authorities had recovered the body of Siu H'Kai (born in 2015, residing in Blom village, Ia Pa commune) at 9:30 a.m. the same day and handed it over to his family for burial.

Authorities organized a search.

Previously, at around 4:30 p.m. on October 3, while washing hands with a group of friends at Piao stream, flowing through Blom village, Siu H'Kai slipped and fell, drowning. Ia Pa commune police mobilized 20 officers, soldiers and security forces at the grassroots level, in coordination with the Commune Military Command and the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Gia Lai Provincial Police to participate in the search. Due to the strong currents, the rescue work encountered many difficulties. After more than 41 hours of searching, the authorities found the child's body.

Ia Pa commune visited and encouraged the family, and sent officials to help with the funeral.
