
It has been 3 days since Ms. Huynh Thi Lai in Ward 10, Quy Nhon Bac Ward moved to the flood shelter at the Traffic Police Department, Gia Lai Province Police, but she is still in shock. Luckily, the authorities approached her and took her to the evacuation point on the night of September 18. She said that she has lived here for many years but has never seen the flood water rise as fast and as big as this year.
Her house was deeply flooded, thanks to the timely rescue of the authorities, her family is now safe as it is now. Not only were they rescued, here, in the morning, noon and afternoon, officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Department provide hot meals for the people, Ms. Lai shared.

Not only Ms. Lai, hundreds of people in Ward 10, Quy Nhon Bac Ward have been evacuated from the deeply flooded area to the Traffic Police Department, Gia Lai Provincial Police in the past few days. Many people witnessed the flood water rising so quickly for the first time, so they were still very scared, but the dedication of the officers and soldiers here made them feel secure.
Ms. Huynh Thi Ban in Ward 10, Quy Nhon Bac Ward, said that her family was evacuated when the water was deep. At that time, the whole family was only concerned about escaping without thinking about anything else. When they arrived, they were soaked. Luckily, they had dry clothes to change into and blankets to sleep on, so they are now healthy. The people are very grateful to the officers and soldiers here.

Sitting next to her, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Bao also excitedly shared that when she first came here, she was still confused, but the staff took care of the clean sleeping place, her whole family slept soundly, no longer afraid of rising water. Meals were always prepared with full nutrition, hot. Seeing the officers and soldiers here waking up from dawn, sweating to cook rice for the people, everyone was touched.
During the recent days of floods, there was a time when the Traffic Police Department, Gia Lai Provincial Police received 800 people coming to take shelter. Not only did they arrange high and safe places for people in the surrounding areas to avoid the flood, the unit also mobilized maximum force to serve the people's essential needs.
Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Duc Hoai, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department, Gia Lai Provincial Police, said that after the rescue force brought people out of the deep flooded area, the unit coordinated with other forces to bring people to the Department's headquarters. Due to the large number of people coming, the unit had to rearrange the working rooms to make sleeping places for people. Rice in the warehouse to serve officers and soldiers was brought out to cook, the unit's kitchen was always on fire, ready to serve hot meals for 3 meals for the people.

“At noon on November 21, the floodwaters began to recede. Some people who came here returned to clean up their houses, while the rest were mainly the elderly and children. We are still assigning officers and soldiers to cook for the people. The unit also coordinated with benefactors to prepare thousands of meals, drinks, clothes, and shoes right at the headquarters to promptly support those in need,” added Senior Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Duc Hoai.
The image of officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Department, Gia Lai Provincial Police, staying up all night and waking up early to prepare each meal not only warms people's hearts but also gives them strength to overcome the difficulties ahead.
