The Vietnam-Laos Trade Fair 2025 is organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense in coordination with the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Lao Ministry of National Defense and relevant ministries and branches. The fair has nearly 120 standard booths, of which Laos participates in 20 booths.
Nghe An province has 10 participating enterprises, including: Trung Hai Nghe An Group Joint Stock Company; VN Algae Science and Technology Joint Stock Company; Hung Long Dien Chau Trading & Investment Company Limited; Dat Vui Production and Trading Company Limited; Western Nghe An Turmeric Starch Agricultural Cooperative; Tra Lan Cooperative; An Nam Herbal Import-Export Joint Stock Company; Viet Anh Import-Export Construction Investment Joint Stock Company; Minh Hien Food Processing and Service Cooperative; EA TA Agricultural Products Cooperative. This is an opportunity for Nghe An businesses to directly exchange, introduce products, seek trade partners, and survey the needs of the Lao market to expand exports.
Nghe An delegation set up a special display booth, focusing on key export items such as construction materials, agricultural products of all kinds, and processed agricultural products. The products were presented in a professional style, with clear labels, introducing detailed information about origin, quality and practical applications, creating a good impression on businesses and visitors to Laos.
Within the framework of the fair, Nghe An delegation organized many meetings, signed trade contracts and cooperation agreements with Lao enterprises. Many Nghe An enterprises signed cooperation agreements and import-export contracts worth millions of USD, opening up new opportunities for local economic development. Nghe An's booth also received great attention from Lao enterprises, visitors and trade promotion agencies.
The event also featured seminars and workshops on import-export experience, logistics, product quality management and trade policies between the two countries. Through this, Nghe An businesses not only promoted their products but also grasped market information, consumption trends and import requirements of Laos.
Promoting border trade
Mr. Pham Van Hoa - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: "The fair is an important opportunity for Nghe An to promote products, boost import and export and connect with Lao enterprises. We will continue to accompany and support enterprises to expand markets and develop sustainable border economy".
The fair’s activities are not only limited to direct trade, but also a tool to support cross-border trade promotion, helping businesses update market information, find partners and improve competitiveness. The event also contributes to strengthening the Vietnam-Laos economic relationship, especially in the context of increasingly deep regional economic integration.
According to the leader of the Department of Industry and Trade, Nghe An's presence at the fair has contributed to promoting border trade, increasing trade and expanding the market, and is also an opportunity for businesses on both sides to exchange experiences and seek long-term cooperation solutions. In the last months of 2025, Nghe An will continue to carry out border trade promotion activities, participate in fairs, organize market survey delegations, and connect businesses, in order to increase import and export and develop the border economy.
Participation in the fair took place in the context of Nghe An's import and export in the first 10 months of 2025 achieving positive results. The export value to Laos is estimated at 60.3 million USD, focusing on agricultural products and construction materials, while the import value from Laos is estimated at 97.5 million USD, mainly production materials and consumer goods.
