Lam Dong: Fire at an illegally built laundry facility on agricultural land

On the afternoon of October 5, a representative of the People's Committee of Ham Thang Ward (Lam Dong Province) said that the authorities were still organizing to count the damage and clarify the cause of the fire that occurred at the laundry facility of Thanh Mai Laundry Company Limited.

According to initial information, in the early morning of the same day, a large fire broke out at the laundry facility of Thanh Mai Company Limited (Ham Thang Ward, Lam Dong Province). Upon receiving the news, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Region 5 under the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Lam Dong Provincial Police) dispatched 3 fire trucks and tankers, along with more than 10 officers and soldiers to the scene.

When the authorities arrived at the scene, the fire was raging and spreading to the laundry area containing blankets, sheets, pillows, and mattresses. By 4 a.m. the same day, the fire was completely extinguished, fortunately there were no casualties.

The illegally built laundry facility has been operating for a long time.

Responding to SGGP Newspaper, a leader of Ham Thang Ward People's Committee confirmed that this laundry facility has been operating for a long time and was built illegally on agricultural land. Currently, Ham Thang Ward People's Committee is coordinating with the Ward Police and related units to clarify the legality of the laundry facility to handle it according to the provisions of law.
