Protect the environment, do not take advantage of rain and storms to illegally discharge waste

Accordingly, units providing environmental sanitation services, collecting, transporting and treating waste, mobilize forces and vehicles to clean up and collect waste, prioritizing main roads in urban areas and coastal areas; promptly report to the Department of Agriculture and Environment when large amounts of waste arise.

In addition, ensure safe operation of factories and waste treatment areas in the city (Khanh Son solid waste treatment complex, Tam Xuan 2, Tam Nghia, Dai Hiep, Hoi An, Bac Quang Nam , etc.); promptly prevent and respond to environmental incidents.

At the same time, urgently check the entire area of HDPE tarpaulin covering the surface of landfill cells, reinforce and anchor the tarpaulin to prevent storms; cover the waste disposal areas according to regulations; clear the rainwater drainage system, do not let it overflow into the leachate collection system.

Project management boards are investing, constructing, and operating waste collection, transportation, and treatment facilities and urgently deploying storm prevention and response plans; ensuring safety, security, and environmental sanitation before, during, and after storms.

The Center for Monitoring and Management of Agricultural Infrastructure and Environment (under the Department of Agriculture and Environment) prepares equipment, chemicals and human resources to spray disinfectants and deodorants.

Strengthen monitoring and inspection of all activities at treatment areas to promptly detect, handle or report to competent authorities to propose remedial measures, ensuring security, safety and environmental hygiene in the area.

Supervise the reception and treatment of waste at transfer stations and treatment areas during the rainy and stormy season to ensure compliance with regulations.

People's Committees of communes and wards closely monitor and strictly handle acts of taking advantage of heavy rain to discharge waste causing environmental pollution, especially illegal discharge into sanitary protection areas of domestic water intake areas in the city.

Be proactive in deploying forces and having plans ready to collect trash immediately after the storm ends, prioritizing coastal areas, main roads, and low-lying, flooded areas.

At the same time, propagate and mobilize agencies, units, organizations, businesses, service establishments and people not to dump garbage and leaves into manholes and rainwater intakes and not to use tarpaulins, cloth, wood, etc. to cover water intakes to ensure drainage.

Propaganda not to mix daily household waste with storm and flood waste (leaves, branches, damaged items, etc.) to facilitate the collection and transportation of household waste first, avoiding waste accumulation that causes environmental pollution.

The Management Board of the Danang High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks, economic zones, industrial parks... closely monitors businesses to avoid taking advantage of heavy rains to discharge waste causing pollution.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment requires production, business and service establishments in the city and units operating centralized wastewater treatment stations to deploy storm response plans; strictly prohibit the discharge of waste in violation of regulations.
