Science and technology are the golden key
At the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Forum 2025 on the morning of October 22 in Hanoi , Chairman of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Pham Tan Cong said that in the new era, Vietnamese female entrepreneurs are facing an important crossroads: either stopping at the traditional role, or breaking through to reach new heights, becoming a pioneering force in the era of science, technology, innovation associated with sustainable development.
Currently, women-owned enterprises account for nearly 25% of the total number of enterprises in Vietnam – an impressive rate in the ASEAN region. Enterprises owned and managed by women not only contribute to the national budget and create jobs for millions of workers, but also bring different values: humanistic thinking, perseverance, aspiration for innovation and pioneering will.
When these qualities are connected with science, technology and innovation, they will create a synergistic force, helping Vietnamese female entrepreneurs reach regional and world levels.

Quoting General Secretary To Lam, Chairman of VCCI, said: "Science, technology, innovation and digital transformation are the golden key, the vital factor to overcome the middle-income trap and the risk of falling behind, and at the same time realize the aspiration of our nation to become strong and prosperous."
"For the Vietnamese business community, especially women-owned businesses, this is a golden time to make a breakthrough, take the lead in science and technology trends, innovate, digitally transform, improve competitiveness and affirm its position in the global value chain," the VCCI President emphasized.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Nguyen Hoa Cuong - Deputy Director of the Central Institute for Policy and Strategy Studies said that the world is entering the "globalization 2.0" phase with artificial intelligence (AI) as the strategic front. In that context, science and technology are the core factors for development.
"Innovation is no longer a slogan but has become a vital need for businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises," Mr. Cuong emphasized.

Resolutions 57-NQ/TW and 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo on private economic development and development of science, technology and innovation are also important pillars, opening up new spaces for businesses - especially female entrepreneurs who are pioneering innovation in many fields.
Experts also point out that if businesses want to make a breakthrough, they need to boldly apply technology to all aspects of their operations. New economic models such as the sharing economy, circular economy, digital economy, green economy... are opening up unlimited development space.
"This is the way that businesses can exploit technology and the market to develop more strongly, without being limited within old frameworks," Mr. Cuong said.
A clear demonstration of this trend is the success story of the Inter-Pacific Group (IPPG). Ms. Le Hong Thuy Tien - General Director of IPPG, shared that the group identifies technology as not only a trend but also the "DNA for sustainable development".
Accordingly, IPPG has built a development strategy based on three core technology pillars. One is intelligent automation with the deployment of multiple unified data platforms, applying AI to forecast consumer demand and optimize supply chains and customer experiences. The group's goal is to turn data into a strategic compass, guiding businesses to respond quickly to the market.

The second is digital economy and smart commerce. In which, the development model is a combination of physical stores and digital platforms, aiming to personalize the entire customer experience and services of the entire retail system and airport. This is a "Hyper-Intelligence" orientation, where people and technology create value together.
Third is investing in people and AI knowledge. IPPG also accompanies and sponsors many AI training centers in universities.
This strategy not only helps IPPG optimize operations but also creates outstanding values, ready for the future.
In the coming years, IPPG will continue to promote the application of science and technology and AI into the entire management and operation system to optimize customer experience, while pursuing an inclusive and sustainable development strategy.
Policy to create breakthrough
On the part of the state management agency, Mr. Pham Duc Nghiem - Deputy Director of the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises (Ministry of Science and Technology) said that mechanisms and policies are being implemented synchronously to create the most favorable environment for businesses.
Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo is considered an important milestone. To institutionalize this resolution, the Ministry of Science and Technology is drafting and amending about 9 laws and more than 40 related laws, including the Law on Science, Technology and Innovation that has just been passed by the National Assembly.
A series of support measures are being implemented, from institutional improvement, direct and indirect financial measures, to international connectivity activities. In particular, the Ministry of Science and Technology is restructuring two large funds, the National Fund for Science and Technology Development and the National Fund for Technological Innovation, and is submitting to the Government the establishment of a Venture Capital Support Fund to create a financial "push" for breakthrough ideas.
In addition, special testing mechanisms (sandboxes) in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang are also expected to shorten the distance from research to product commercialization.
"We hope that with synchronous adjustments in policies and implementation measures, we will create the most favorable environment, helping Vietnamese female entrepreneurs access resources and promote their leading role in science, technology and innovation in the coming time," said Mr. Nghiem.
Within the framework of the forum, 98 female entrepreneurs were awarded the title of “Outstanding Vietnamese Female Entrepreneurs – Golden Rose 2025”. These are entrepreneurs with outstanding achievements in production and business, and at the same time have made positive contributions to the community and society. Notably, among them, 10 outstanding female entrepreneurs were honored in the Top 10 Golden Rose 2025 – representing the courage, intelligence and aspirations of Vietnamese female entrepreneurs in the era of innovation and global integration. |
