Lam Dong province boasts unique natural landscapes and a rich cultural identity. These range from vast pine forests and the M'nong plateau, steeped in geological and historical significance, to sun-drenched beaches with white sand. However, in the context of increasingly profound climate change, Lam Dong always prioritizes environmental protection, investing in diverse landscapes that are close to nature and preserving its distinctive features.
In particular, over the past period, the province has implemented many campaigns to collect garbage on beaches, promoted the message of not bringing plastic waste to Phu Quy Island, and encouraged the economical use of water and electricity; launched the movement "Every tourist saving water and electricity is protecting the environment" and the "Exchange garbage for gifts" program of the UNESCO Dak Nong Global Geopark, creating a positive effect of a "Green Lam Dong".
In recent days, many localities throughout the province have responded to the movement of planting trees, beautifying urban areas, celebrating major holidays, and aiming to protect the environment and promote the value of the ecosystem.
In Lam Vien ward, Da Lat, many activities promoting a green, clean, and beautiful environment have been organized, yielding practical results. This is also an opportunity to foster a spirit of solidarity and responsibility among all citizens in building a civilized and modern city while preserving its unique ecological beauty.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Vu Loan, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Lam Vien Ward, Da Lat, the goal of the activity is to raise community awareness in environmental protection, reduce the impact of climate change, and contribute to improving the urban landscape of the tourist area. According to the plan, Lam Vien Ward will plant and care for 68,000 trees and flowers in the area. This activity is part of Lam Dong province's program to plant 50 million trees. Meanwhile, in La Gi Ward, in response to the "Saturday for a Bright, Green, Clean, and Beautiful Environment" emulation movement, hundreds of youth union members, students, and residents participated in cleaning up the environment in the Doi Duong - Binh Tan beach area.
Recently, at Doi Duong Beach in Binh Tan, sightseeing and swimming activities have resulted in the accumulation of various types of waste. Therefore, to protect the landscape and environment, youth union members, armed forces personnel, and local residents have collected and cleaned up the waste, thoroughly cleaning the entire area. Besides Doi Duong Beach, along the Lam Dong coastline, many other tourist destinations such as Doi Duong Beach in Binh Thanh, Chi Cong casuarina forest, Hoa Minh, Doi Duong Thuong Chanh, Cam Binh casuarina forest, etc., have also received attention from the authorities and residents in collecting waste and maintaining public hygiene.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, the province currently has several tourist areas developing in a green direction, receiving awards related to sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism development, and hundreds of service establishments recognized as meeting "green tourism criteria".
These accolades affirm Lam Dong province's core orientation towards developing "green" tourism. The province's motto focuses not only on environmental protection and the promotion of ecosystem values but also on sustainable growth. The province prioritizes developing strategies and supporting businesses to invest in high-quality, safe, diverse, and sustainable tourism areas, destinations, and products. This has made Lam Dong increasingly beloved by tourists. "Thanks to these accolades, Lam Dong has become a top choice for tourists who love nature, a cool climate, romantic seascapes, and who enjoy exploration, adventure, and healing. This has contributed to the remarkable growth in tourist numbers and revenue in recent times," Mr. Loc added.
