DNO - On the afternoon of October 22, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Quang Buu inspected the response work to storm No. 12 at the Command Center for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control located at the Base Training Center 1 (Command Board of Defense of Region 5 - Dien Ban).

At the inspection, representatives of the City Military Command reported on the storm and flood situation in the area and the preparation of forces, means and materials to serve response, rescue and relief tasks.

The City Military Command predicts that areas at risk of flooding, isolation, flash floods, and dams may become unsafe if heavy rain continues.

Based on the plan report of the City Military Command, the Forward Command Base 2 activated the response plan for storm No. 12 for 39 communes and wards (including 21 communes and wards under the Defense Command of Region 5 - Dien Ban and 18 communes under the Defense Command of Region 2 - Thanh My).

Currently, localities are closely monitoring the development of floods and rains, proactively evacuating people in areas at high risk of landslides. In particular, they are regularly monitoring the situation of landslides at An Bang beach in Tan Thanh block (Hoi An Tay ward) to come up with emergency response measures.

Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Ho Quang Buu, commended the prompt spirit of the city's armed forces in implementing the plan to prevent and mitigate the effects of Typhoon No. 12 in recent days.

At the same time, it is recommended that the City Military Command continue to strictly maintain the on-duty regime at the Disaster Prevention and Control Command Center; establish an online "forward" information group to promptly direct and operate, and avoid being passive or surprised.

According to the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, relevant units need to effectively promote the "4 on-site" motto in natural disaster prevention and control; ensure absolute safety for people. Prepare forces and means to be ready to participate in rescue, search and rescue, and overcome the consequences after the storm when ordered.
