Officers and soldiers of Brigade 572 rescue people in an isolated area in Tuy An Bac commune ( Dak Lak province).
Determined to leave no one behind
On November 20, as floodwaters rose rapidly, working groups of Brigade 572 (Military Region 5) used canoes, motorboats and many specialized vehicles to cross the rapids to reach isolated areas in Tuy An Bac commune (Dak Lak province). This was one of the most heavily flooded areas, with traffic completely cut off.
After many hours of steering in the strong current, the Brigade's forces safely evacuated 22 people, including the elderly, women and children. Despite bad weather conditions and limited visibility, the soldiers still stuck to their mission, "going from house to house, checking each household", determined not to leave any people behind.
In addition, the Brigade’s mobile medical teams also provided first aid and transported 11 people injured due to falls and collisions while fleeing the flood. The victims received first aid on the canoe and were then taken to the nearest medical facility.
Along with the rescue, Brigade 572 coordinated with Tuy An Bac commune authorities to provide more than 100 gifts, including instant noodles, dry food, drinking water, flashlights and other necessities to people in deeply flooded areas who could not provide food for themselves. The canoe trips in heavy rain added resources and spirit to people in the flood zone.

Do not let people go hungry or have no shelter from floods
Faced with prolonged heavy rains and floods on rivers rising rapidly beyond historic flood levels, on November 20, Colonel Phan Dai Nghia, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 5, was present in Dak Lak, directly directing mobile military forces to respond, rescue and support people.
At the scene, Colonel Phan Dai Nghia requested the forces stationed in the area to continue to review all vulnerable points and resolutely and proactively develop rescue plans according to each flood level.
"Absolutely do not let people go hungry or lack clean water. Organize and mobilize vehicles to promptly take people out of dangerous areas and to safe shelters. Maintain uninterrupted communication and arrange adequate medical and logistical support on all approaches," Colonel Phan Dai Nghia emphasized.

Colonel Phan Dai Nghia and his delegation came to encourage the people of Thuong Phu village, Binh Kien ward, who are taking shelter at Brigade TLB 62, Navy.
Faced with the risk of further complicated floods, Military Region 5 has also prepared a landing pad for rescue helicopters, ready to receive air support forces when necessary. At the same time, it has developed a master plan to support localities in overcoming the consequences of floods, prioritizing the restoration of agency headquarters, hospitals, schools and essential works to soon stabilize people's lives.
For many days, officers and soldiers of the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command have been staying at each flooded spot, regardless of the danger, taking canoes deep into the strong currents and landslides to reach each household, especially the elderly, children and families who are no longer able to move on their own.
The Provincial Military Command has mobilized a large-scale force of 12,323 officers, soldiers, militia, along with many vehicles and equipment to supply food, clean water and evacuate vulnerable areas deeply flooded by heavy rain and floods.
