Fascinated by the scenery of Long Coc - one of the most beautiful bowl-shaped tea hills in Vietnam

Long Coc tea hill in Long Coc commune (Phu Tho), attracts tourists by the beauty of the "complex" of small hills shaped like upside-down bowls, the green space covers the horizon and is considered one of the most beautiful upside-down bowl-shaped tea hills in Vietnam.

Tea trees have been associated with this midland area for a long time, being a long-term source of livelihood for thousands of households. In recent times, tea growers in the commune have promoted the development of tea trees in a sustainable, high-quality, food-safe manner, actively building the “Phu Tho tea” brand.

With a total area of up to 941 hectares, Long Coc Tea Hill is not only the main source of income for local people but also a favorite tourist destination.

From above, Long Coc tea hills appear with hundreds of small green hills, undulating, creating a beautiful scene like a painting. Long Coc is considered one of the most beautiful tea hills in Vietnam, with hundreds, thousands of hills of different sizes, like upside-down bowls, creating a very unique and distinct scene here.

The vast tea oases, each area up to a hectare, combined with the overlapping rocky mountains create a green, extremely eye-catching complex, like being lost in a fairyland.

The best time to visit this tea oasis is early in the morning in early summer. Every morning, the entire Long Coc tea hill scene appears and disappears under the misty mist under the rosy sky, in a quiet, peaceful space. This is an ideal place to hunt clouds and capture impressive frames.

In the fall and winter, clouds cover the tea hills every morning, creating a poetic scene, attracting young people and those who love to explore nature.

Long Coc tea hill is also a new tourist route connecting the Xuan Son National Park tour and the Muong village cultural tourism in Kha Cuu commune that tourists want to conquer and experience on their journey to explore the midland and mountainous region of Phu Tho.

Discovering Long Coc green tourism, visitors not only enjoy and immerse themselves in the unique bowl-shaped tea hills with a magical view of the distant mountains, but also immerse themselves in the simple village life, experience other interesting tourism products, such as picking tea by hand and learning about the tea production process of the local people; camping overnight and waking up early to watch the sunrise at the tea hills.

With a population of more than 8,700 people including 10 ethnic groups living together, of which the Muong and Dao people account for more than 85%, Long Coc possesses a rich cultural treasure with many traditional cultural values preserved and restored such as the Dao people's ordination ceremony and lap tinh dance; traditional stilt houses, folk performances and cuisine of the Muong people... This is a valuable resource for developing community tourism and cultural-ecological experiential tourism.

According to statistics, each year Long Coc commune welcomes about 3,000-4,000 tourists, mainly during holidays, Tet and "cloud hunting" season.

To effectively exploit existing potential and strengths, Long Coc commune is implementing the Project "Attracting investment in economic development associated with green tourism in the period 2025-2030".

According to the project, the locality aims to make Long Coc tea hill a provincial-level tourist destination by 2030, positioning Long Coc as an attractive, friendly and sustainable green tourist destination with the capacity to receive at least 50,000 visitors per year; forming an accommodation system with 100 self-contained rooms or 20 standard community rooms.

The project also sets out many key tasks such as completing traffic infrastructure connecting tourist destinations; developing community tourism models associated with tea hill landscapes; supporting businesses and households to upgrade accommodation facilities; promoting Long Coc's image on digital platforms; developing typical OCOP products, especially high-quality tea and local cuisine.

According to Chairman of Phu Tho Province Tourism Association Nguyen Ngoc Lan, for Long Coc to develop commensurate with its potential, regional connectivity is the most important factor. Long Coc has rare advantages in terms of landscape and culture. The locality needs to soon complete the traffic infrastructure system; build land funds for pick-up and drop-off points located on the road connecting to Xuan Son National Park in Xuan Dai commune.

The commune also needs to pay attention to building agricultural models to serve tourism with the support of businesses, attracting people to participate; calling on investors to build local tourism products, including night markets to meet the needs of tourists.

Phu Tho province is orienting towards sustainable tourism development, focusing on the community, therefore, Long Coc needs to strengthen propaganda, raise people's awareness about preserving landscape, protecting the environment and preserving traditional culture.

With unique natural scenery, rich indigenous culture and investment attention from the province, Long Coc is facing many opportunities to break through and become an attractive green tourism destination in the region.

When tourism products are clearly positioned, when people are equipped with professional tourism skills and infrastructure is completed synchronously, Long Coc will not only be a famous "cloud hunting" spot, but also a memorable stop for domestic and international tourists./.
