Attending the workshop were scientists ; representatives of departments, ministries, branches; artisans and ethnic people who are joining hands to preserve and promote precious traditional cultural values.
Culture has always been identified as an important resource for sustainable development, contributing to economic development, poverty reduction and improving the quality of social life. The Party and the State always identify the preservation and promotion of national cultural values as a strategic task, both urgent and long-term, especially in the context of international integration and the strong development of science and technology.
For ethnic minorities, traditional culture is not only a priceless spiritual asset but also a unique resource for developing cultural tourism, community tourism and eco-tourism.

The orientation of combining cultural preservation with tourism development has been specified in many major policies and guidelines such as Resolution No. 08-NQ/TW in 2017 on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector; Project No. 6 on "Preserving and promoting fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development" under the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030...
These policies create an important corridor to help localities restore, preserve and promote traditional cultural values, while bringing culture into tourism activities, especially community tourism, bringing livelihoods and improving people's lives.

In practice, the implementation of Project 6 in the 2021-2025 period nationwide has brought positive results. Many cultural values at risk of being lost have been effectively restored; many cultural activities have positively spread to the community and domestic and international tourists; the direction of cultural preservation with community tourism development has increased employment for people in remote areas...
However, this process requires a balance between conservation and development; harmonizing economic, cultural and environmental interests; applying technology in conservation; strengthening coordination between communities, businesses and management agencies while finding solutions to prevent the risk of commercialization of heritage...
In the context of deep integration, preserving and promoting traditional culture associated with tourism development has become an urgent and long-term requirement. This activity not only preserves identity and creates livelihoods for people but also contributes to poverty reduction, improving sustainable living conditions and strengthening cultural pride, helping the community become more confident in the integration process.
Therefore, the workshop will be a forum for scientists, managers, businesses and community representatives to discuss cultural values that need to be prioritized for preservation in the new context; the relationship between cultural preservation and economic development and sustainable tourism; the impact of integration and digital technology on preservation work; the role of the community as a subject in preserving culture; solutions and policies to reasonably exploit cultural resources and develop tourism to ensure people's interests.
The opinions at the workshop will contribute to supplementing the theoretical and practical basis in preserving and promoting the culture of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development; proposing practical, feasible, humane solutions suitable to the characteristics of each region.
