Four players will not continue to accompany the team in this qualifying campaign, including goalkeeper Ho Le Nguyen Chuong, defender Nguyen Le Duc Anh, midfielder Hoang Minh Loi and striker Ho Chi Dan.
The coaching staff met with each player to encourage, share and advise them to stay optimistic and continue to work hard at the club to open up opportunities to return to the national team in the next training sessions.
In Group C of the 2026 AFC U17 Championship Qualifiers, the Vietnam U17 team will compete with Malaysia U17, Singapore U17, Hong Kong U17 (China), Northern Mariana Islands U17 and Macau U17 (China). In the opening match, Vietnam U17 will meet Singapore U17 on November 22 at PVF Stadium.
Head coach Cristiano Roland said the team had actively prepared and received attention and support from the Vietnam Football Federation.
The training trip to Japan brought many valuable experiences, helping the young players improve their playing tempo and improve their tactical thinking. He emphasized that the whole team is in good spirits, focused on the first match and aiming to qualify for the 2026 AFC U17 Championship Finals.

Coach Cristiano Roland assessed that the current squad has many faces who participated in the AFC U17 Championship last year and are determined to return to this playground. However, he said that the competition schedule of 5 matches in 10 days is a big challenge, requiring effective recovery and rotation work to ensure the best physical condition for the whole team.
With thorough preparation and high determination, the Vietnam U17 team is expected to become the sixth Vietnamese football team to qualify for the continental finals next year, after the national women's team, the national U23 team, the men's futsal team, the women's U20 team and the women's U17 team.
