On November 21, at Lam Son Park (Saigon Ward), the Vietnam Film Institute (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City organized the opening of the exhibition "Ho Chi Minh City rises with the country through the perspective of cinema." This is the opening activity of the series of events of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival.
The exhibition introduces more than 250 photos selected from film archives at the Vietnam Film Institute, photographers, film producers and cultural and tourism agencies of the City.
The works record many special historical periods, from the heroic years of the two resistance wars (1945-1975), to the journey of innovation, integration and strong development of the City today.

The new feature of this year's exhibition is the application of mixed reality (MR) technology, combining a 360-degree projection space and an interactive photo booth area, bringing a multi-sensory experience to the public, especially young people.
At the ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Ha, Director of the Vietnam Film Institute, said that cinema always accompanies the history of the nation and the transformation of Ho Chi Minh City.
Each film, each frame at the exhibition is an emotional piece, helping the public see a dynamic city, constantly striving while still preserving its unique cultural values. She hopes that the exhibition will strongly spread the beauty of civilized, modern, and affectionate Ho Chi Minh City; at the same time, contribute to promoting the cultural and historical values of the country through the language of cinema.
At the exhibition, many students came to visit, study and experience. Nguyen Gia Khanh Linh, a student at the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “I have seen many documents about Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City, but when I saw the cinema frames on display, my feelings were very different. I hope that through the exhibition, I will learn more about how filmmakers build visual language and tell historical stories, so that I can apply them to my study projects in the future.”
The exhibition "Ho Chi Minh City rises with the country through a cinematic perspective" runs until November 25.
The 24th Vietnam Film Festival is a special national cultural and artistic event in 2025. Taking place from November 21-25 in Ho Chi Minh City with the slogan "Vietnamese Cinema - Sustainable Development and International Integration in the New Era," the Festival contributes to honoring excellent works, affirming the mettle and integration aspirations of Vietnamese cinema in the period of digital transformation and globalization./.
