On the occasion of this important political event, Lam Dong Newspaper and Radio and Television reporters had an interview with comrade Pham Trieu - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee about the significance of the congress and orientation for the new term.

Reporter: The first Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Lam Dong province, term 2025 - 2030, takes place in a special context, when the country and locality are focusing on implementing the revolution of arranging and streamlining the political system, merging administrative units and implementing the 2-level local government model. What do you think about the significance and importance of this congress?

Comrade Pham Trieu: The first congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Lam Dong province has special historical significance. This is not only an event to summarize the term of the three old provinces of Binh Thuan , Dak Nong, and Lam Dong, but also the first congress of the newly established Lam Dong province after the great revolution in administrative unit arrangement.

The importance of the congress is reflected in three points: Firstly, this is the time for the Fatherland Front to reaffirm its core role in consolidating and promoting the great national unity bloc in the new development space. Lam Dong province currently has the largest area in the country with more than 24,200 km ² , a population of more than 3.8 million people, and a diverse cultural identity. The Front's mission is to turn geographical, ethnic, and religious diversity into a combined strength, unifying will and action.

Second, the congress has the task of perfecting the organizational model of the Fatherland Front in the direction of streamlining, effectiveness and efficiency; at the same time, the socio-political organizations and mass associations assigned by the Party and the State have been transferred to the Fatherland Front. This requires us to have solutions to strongly innovate both the content and methods of operation.

Third, the congress will set out the direction, goals and Action Program for the 2025 - 2030 term, aiming to "Promote the strength of great national unity; strengthen democracy and social consensus; arouse confidence and aspiration for innovation, build Lam Dong province to develop rapidly and sustainably, becoming a dynamic growth pole in the era of national growth".

PV: In the period of 2024 - 2025, especially the time of transition and merger, what outstanding results have the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the province achieved, comrade?

Comrade Pham Trieu: Despite many difficulties due to organizational restructuring and transfer, the Front at all levels in the province still strives to achieve many comprehensive results in consolidating national solidarity, promoting democracy and carrying out patriotic emulation movements.

Notably, the Fatherland Front at all levels has done a good job of propaganda, creating a high consensus on the policy of merging administrative units, contributing to strengthening solidarity among the people. After the merger, Lam Dong province has 49 ethnic groups living together, with 24 religious organizations with about 1.6 million followers. Therefore, maintaining ideological stability and social consensus is of special importance.

In addition, social security and sustainable poverty reduction are also bright spots of the past term. The province has completed 100% of the target of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the 2024-2025 period as launched by the Prime Minister. The "For the Poor" Fund has met its annual plan, 100% of poor and near-poor households have received Tet gifts. The Front has received and allocated more than 185 billion VND from the Relief Fund to support people affected by natural disasters in and outside the province.

In addition, grassroots democracy continued to be promoted. The supervision activities of the People's Inspection Committee and the Community Investment Supervision Committee were effective, contributing to the implementation of the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise, people benefit". The National Great Unity Day was organized in 100% of residential areas with rich content, attracting a large number of people to participate. Thereby, strengthening the neighborly spirit and community self-management awareness.

With 49 ethnic groups, building great national unity is an important task of the Fatherland Front at all levels of Lam Dong province.

PV: Entering the 2025 - 2030 term, in the new context with new requirements, what key solutions will the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province focus on to improve the quality of its activities, comrade?

Comrade Pham Trieu: In the new term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province determined to continue to improve the effectiveness of social supervision and criticism work, shifting from focusing on quantity to quality, selecting major issues that have a profound impact on people's lives and the development of the new province.

In addition, build a modern Front cadre team. Strive for 100% of commune-level Front cadres and heads of Front work committees to receive annual professional training; 95% of cadres and civil servants to be proficient in using information technology; move towards the model of "Paperless meeting room". This is an urgent requirement to meet the 2-level local government model.

In particular, we will strictly follow the direction of General Secretary To Lam at the Congress of Delegates of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Organizations for the 2025-2030 term: Front officials must be the core, keeping "3 closeness", including: close to the people - close to the grassroots - close to the digital space; "5 musts" including: listening - dialogue - setting an example - taking responsibility - reporting results; "4 nos" including: no formality - no avoidance - no shirking - no wrong performance of functions.

At the same time, continue to promote the role of mastery and self-management of the People; continue to replicate and improve the quality of the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" associated with the model "Solidarity, prosperity and happiness in residential areas", in order to mobilize maximum community resources.

PV: With the spirit of the new Lam Dong province, what message do you want to send to the staff, union members, association members and people before the congress?

Comrade Pham Trieu: The first Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is a milestone for a new development period, with many opportunities but also many challenges. I believe that the Congress will strongly arouse the potential, intelligence, creativity and aspiration to contribute of the people, contributing to building a rich, civilized Lam Dong, becoming a dynamic growth pole of the country.

With the spirit of "Solidarity - Democracy - Consensus - Innovation - Development", we call on all Front cadres, member organizations and people of all ethnic groups and religions in the province to continue promoting the tradition of patriotism, self-reliance and self-improvement, turning diverse advantages and new development space into breakthrough driving forces.

Immediately after the congress, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province will organize a conference to disseminate and deploy the key contents of the congress resolution to all Front officials, the Front working committees of villages, residential groups, member organizations and the people in the area. In particular, 10 main targets and 6 key action programs for the 2025 - 2030 term will be specified to bring the resolution into life in a practical and effective way.
