At the request of Lam Dong Province Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1, Deo Ca Construction Joint Stock Company (DCC) quickly mobilized personnel, machinery, and materials to support the repair of landslides on Prenn Pass, the main gateway to Da Lat.

In recent days, prolonged heavy rains have caused floods and landslides on many roads in the central and Central Highlands regions. In Lam Dong province, a series of serious landslides have occurred on key mountain passes such as Prenn, Khanh Le, D'ran, Mimosa, etc., disrupting and paralyzing traffic and posing many potential safety risks.

At Km224+650 Prenn Pass, continuous heavy rain has caused erosion of the foundation, collapsed the retaining wall and caused nearly half of the road surface to collapse. This is a steep terrain location with complex geology, and is at continued risk of landslides due to the worsening weather.

On November 17, 2025, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2193/QD-UBND, declaring a natural disaster emergency situation for the section Km224+600-Km224+700 on Prenn Pass.

At the request of the Project Management Board, Deo Ca Construction Joint Stock Company has agreed to support Lam Dong province with urgent work items including erecting fences, traffic safety warning signs, and driving steel sheet piles over dangerous landslide points to create temporary traffic surfaces.

On November 19, 2025, DCC completed the technical plan and mobilized personnel and equipment to the site to implement the construction. At the same time, the company coordinated traffic regulation, surveyed and developed a long-term stable design plan, and advised the local authorities on implementation.

After completing the pile driving part, the Department of Construction will check and agree on the traffic flow and organization plan on Prenn Pass.

According to the plan, on November 24, the unit will basically complete the pile driving, install corrugated iron fences and signs. After that, the Department of Construction will organize inspections and agree on traffic diversion and organization plans on Prenn Pass. In parallel with the road surface repair, the construction unit will deploy the installation of fences, traffic safety warning signs, etc. to allow temporary one-way traffic.

A representative of DCC Company said that the construction conditions at the landslide site were very complicated, the bottom of the pile tip was hard and rocky, so the solution required pilot drilling before driving the piles, causing difficulties and taking a lot of time. To ensure the progress of the temporary two-lane route on November 25, the construction unit organized the work day and night.

Previously, the old Prenn Pass road was only 7m wide, with 2 lanes, passing through mountainous terrain and many winding sections, affecting the visibility of road users, causing traffic safety risks.

The Prenn Pass upgrade and expansion project started construction on February 10, 2023, and by January 2024, the section from Datanla waterfall to the end of the route was opened to traffic and put into operation. On July 26, 2024, the investor accepted the completion of the project and the Department of Transport (now the Department of Construction) of Lam Dong province approved the completion acceptance results, put the project into operation, with a 1-year warranty period (July 26, 2024 - July 26, 2025).

After being repaired, Prenn Pass will improve its capacity and ensure traffic safety.

After being upgraded and expanded, Prenn Pass has a road surface width of 14.5m, including 4 lanes (equivalent to the scale of the limited expressway - phase I), with a lighting system for the entire route, contributing to improving capacity and ensuring traffic safety.
