Meeting of outstanding individuals and groups to commemorate the province's founding.

On October 14th, Quang Ninh province held a meeting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the province's establishment (October 30, 1963 - October 30, 2023). The meeting was attended by 388 delegates representing collectives and individuals who have made significant contributions to the local development over the years.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, expressed his deep gratitude for the contributions, dedication, and selfless service of cadres, Party members, and people from all walks of life throughout the years to the construction, protection, and development of Quang Ninh province over the past 60 years.

The leaders of Quang Ninh province and the delegates together reviewed the journey from the province's establishment to the present day. On October 30, 1963, at the 7th session of the 2nd National Assembly , the National Assembly passed a resolution approving the merger of Hai Ninh province and Hong Quang region into Quang Ninh province.

The name "Quang Ninh" was suggested by President Ho Chi Minh in 1963. According to him, "Quang" means vast, and "Ninh" means peaceful, peaceful, and stable. Quang Ninh is a vast, peaceful, and stable region.

Over nearly 60 years of construction and development, Quang Ninh province's Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups have continuously strived, united, and innovated, achieving many important accomplishments and outstanding milestones in various fields.

In particular, Quang Ninh province has achieved double-digit growth for seven consecutive years (2016-2022). The locality has completed the new rural development program at all three levels and reached the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction three years ahead of schedule for the 2021-2025 period.

Quang Ninh has received numerous prestigious awards from the Party and the State. Many collectives and individuals in the province have been awarded honorary titles and commendations by the President and the Prime Minister.

Based on the achievements made, Quang Ninh province sets the following development goals for 2030: To build and develop Quang Ninh into a model province that is prosperous, beautiful, civilized, and modern, an international tourism center, a marine economic center, and a gateway to the key economic region of Northern Vietnam and the whole country. The province strives to maintain an average growth rate of 10% or more per year for the entire period of 2025-2030 .
