Manchester United is currently like a "hospital" with 10 players injured, including key players in Erik ten Hag's squad such as Rashford, Luke Shaw, Varane, Lisandro Martinez…
Amidst manager Erik ten Hag's headaches, young Garnacho delivered good news for Manchester United: he is on his way back, after having to leave the pitch on crutches during the goalless draw against Southampton on March 12th.
Garnacho was initially expected to be out for the rest of the season; however, the latest update from the player himself suggests the situation is better than expected.
Specifically, on his personal page, Garnacho posted a picture showing that he was able to put on his training boots, much to the delight of Manchester United fans.
Under the guidance of manager Erik ten Hag, Garnacho has progressed rapidly this season, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists in 15 Premier League appearances.
Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez also reported that his surgery went smoothly, reassuring Manchester United fans.
The positive energy was evident from the Argentine center-back, who smiled and shared: “Everything is going very smoothly. Thank you for all the encouraging messages. Now it’s time to focus on recovery.”
Lisandro Martinez suffered a fractured metatarsal bone in Manchester United's 2-2 draw against Sevilla in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, ruling him out for the rest of the season. His long-time strike partner, Raphael Varane, is also sidelined.
This is manager Erik ten Hag's first-choice central defensive pairing, so the absence of both is a major blow for the Red Devils.
MU is currently fighting on three fronts for a top-four finish in the Premier League, the FA Cup (they face Brighton in the semi-final on April 22), and the Europa League (they will face Sevilla again in the quarter-finals at 2 AM on April 21 after a 2-2 draw).
