Extension of deadline for submitting responses to questions regarding the final review of anti-dumping measures on MSG

On September 10, 2024, the Department of Trade Remedies, Ministry of Industry and Trade issued a notice extending the time for submitting the Response to the Investigation Questionnaire for foreign manufacturers/exporters in the final review of the application of anti-dumping measures on certain MSG products originating from the Republic of Indonesia and the People's Republic of China (case code: ER01.AD09).

Previously, on August 2, 2024, the Trade Defense Department issued Notice No. 100/TB-PVTM on the issuance of the Official Investigation Questionnaire for foreign manufacturers/exporters in case ER01.AD09. Accordingly, the deadline for responding to the Questionnaire is 5:00 p.m. on September 10, 2024 ( Hanoi time).

During the preparation of the response to the Investigation Questionnaire, foreign manufacturers/exporters who are related parties to the case sent a dispatch to the Trade Defense Department requesting an extension of the deadline for responding to the Questionnaire on the grounds that the amount of data to be provided was very large, so the companies needed more time to collect and prepare complete and accurate related data.

In order to facilitate enterprises to participate in answering the questionnaire, ensuring objectivity and fairness among relevant parties in order to provide complete and accurate information for the assessment of the case; Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 57 of Decree No. 10/2018/ND-CP dated January 15, 2018 of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management on trade defense measures, the Investigation Agency has Notice No. 125/TB-PVTM dated September 10, 2024 on extending the deadline for answering the investigation questionnaire for foreign manufacturers/exporters in case ER01.AD09 by 30 days, that is, until 5:00 p.m. on October 10, 2024 (Hanoi time). After the above deadline, the Investigation Agency may use available data in accordance with the provisions of the law on trade defense.

For other contents, companies are requested to follow the instructions in the official investigation questionnaire issued under Notice No. 100/TB-PVTM dated August 2, 2024 of the Investigation Agency.
