On May 22nd, the Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Dak Lak Provincial Police announced that it had just dismantled a particularly serious case of impersonating officials to "fraudulently appropriate property," with the amount of money stolen exceeding 300 billion VND.

The investigating agency has placed TTPY (40 years old) and D.VD (27 years old, both residing in Buon Ma Thuot ward, Dak Lak province) under criminal detention to investigate the act of "fraudulent appropriation of property".

According to initial investigations, from May 2025 to April 2026, Y. and D. provided false information, impersonated officials and employees of asset auction centers, and forged documents related to auction activities in many provinces and cities such as Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, Hanoi , etc.

This group then solicited and attracted people to invest capital in order to profit from the auction of assets.

Initially, investigators determined that two individuals had defrauded two victims residing in Buon Ma Thuot ward, appropriating over 300 billion VND.

The investigative agency of the Dak Lak Provincial Police is continuing to expand the investigation into the case.
