This morning, pepper prices in key production areas in Vietnam did not record any fluctuations. The purchase price fluctuated between 140,000 - 143,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, pepper prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong remained at 143,000 VND/kg. These are the two provinces with the highest purchasing prices.

Other localities such as Gia Lai and Ba Ria – Vung Tau also maintained the price at 141,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Binh Phuoc had a lower price at 140,000 VND/kg.

Although domestic pepper prices remain stable, they are still high compared to previous years, creating great motivation for farmers. In the context of the global pepper market facing many challenges, especially trade barriers from major markets such as the US and EU, the outlook for Vietnamese pepper is still assessed positively thanks to the demand for pepper from major markets such as China, the US, the EU and emerging markets such as Africa, which is forecast to continue to be positive in the third and fourth quarters of 2025.

According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), although export output in the first 17 days of August decreased slightly compared to the same period in July, export turnover still increased thanks to higher export prices. This shows that Vietnamese pepper prices are being maintained at a good level in the international market.

Global consumer trends are increasingly prioritizing high-quality, safe and transparent spice products. This is a great opportunity for the Vietnamese pepper industry, as a leading exporter, to enhance its reputation and product value.

In the medium term, the Vietnamese pepper industry has many opportunities to make a breakthrough if it promptly restructures production, invests in post-harvest technology, expands acreage in a sustainable manner and improves quality standards. Diversifying markets and taking advantage of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) will help Vietnamese pepper access new markets and minimize risks from technical barriers.
