According to the Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center (VITIC), the pepper harvest in Vietnam will begin after the Lunar New Year 2025 and last until the end of April 2025.
Currently, Vietnam and Brazil still maintain their leading positions in pepper exports, while Indonesia increases exports. However, pepper output in 2025 may not increase sharply due to reduced planting areas in some localities.
Vietnam's pepper exports in 2025 are expected to face both opportunities and challenges, with pepper prices depending on consumption from major markets such as the US and China.
According to VITIC, in the first 11 months of 2024, China's official pepper imports reached 9,669 tons, up 15.1% over the same period, of which imports from Indonesia increased sharply by 41.7% and imports from Vietnam increased slightly by 3.8%.

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Vietnam's "black gold" exports are currently facing many opportunities but also many challenges.
Among them, the biggest risk is pesticide residue, followed by environmental factors, carbon emission reduction, sustainable farming models, sustainable intercropping models... or social challenges such as child labor, gender equality...
This is a long-term problem that cannot be solved overnight. However, it cannot be delayed. The most important thing is to promote the connection between farmers and businesses, cultivation and processing with effective support from associations, localities and relevant ministries and branches.
