Gold prices reversed course and rose by 1.5 million VND per tael.

Domestic gold prices reversed course and rose sharply in line with global market developments; meanwhile, the central exchange rate and USD prices at commercial banks remained largely unchanged.

Domestic gold prices have reversed course.

On the morning of May 21st, the domestic precious metals market saw a simultaneous price increase, following the upward trend of global gold prices.

At 9:10 AM, SJC, Phu Quy, and DOJI all listed the price of SJC gold bars at 160.5 million VND/ounce for buying and 163.5 million VND/ounce for selling. Compared to the previous closing price, the price of SJC gold bars increased by 1.5 million VND per ounce.

In the gold ring segment, Bao Tin Minh Chau is trading around 160.5 - 163.5 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price), an increase of 1.5 million VND per ounce.

Meanwhile, Phu Quy Company adjusted its price upwards by 1.8 million VND, currently trading around 160.3 - 163.3 million VND/ounce. The difference between the buying and selling price continues to be maintained at approximately 3 million VND/ounce by gold trading businesses.

On the international market, the price of gold is fluctuating around $4,562 per ounce, an increase of $81 per ounce compared to before.

Based on the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank , the world gold price is equivalent to approximately 145.1 million VND/ounce. Therefore, the domestic SJC gold price is currently about 18.5 million VND/ounce higher than the world gold price.

Regarding the foreign exchange market, the State Bank of Vietnam listed the central exchange rate at 25,135 VND/USD, unchanged from the May 20th session.

The USD exchange rate at commercial banks also remained relatively stable. Vietcombank listed the exchange rate at 26,131 - 26,391 VND/USD (buying - selling).

VietinBank is applying a rate of 26,166 - 26,391 VND/USD; BIDV is trading at 26,161 - 26,391 VND/USD. Meanwhile, Eximbank is listing the exchange rate at 26,140 - 26,391 VND/USD (buy - sell).
