Gasoline prices today, July 2, 2025: E5RON92 gasoline decreased by 101 VND/liter thanks to a 2% reduction in VAT. Diesel and kerosene increased; fuel oil decreased sharply by 668 VND/kg.

Oil prices rise despite OPEC+ preparing to "release" 411,000 barrels/day

Oil prices edged up slightly in the trading session on July 1, thanks to positive signals about energy demand, but the market remained cautious ahead of the OPEC+ meeting on production policy in August.

Specifically, Brent oil increased by 0.40 USD, equivalent to 0.6%, to 67.14 USD/barrel, while WTI oil increased by 0.35 USD, equivalent to 0.5%, to 65.47 USD/barrel.

However, the price increase was limited by expectations that OPEC+ will increase production in August. According to Reuters, four OPEC+ members revealed that the group could increase by 411,000 barrels/day at the meeting on July 6.

“Investors are focusing on the upcoming OPEC+ decision, with the expectation of increasing production by 411,000 barrels/day to compete for market share, especially with US shale oil,” said energy expert Alex Hodes from StoneX.

E5RON92 reduced by 101 VND/liter thanks to "cutting" 2% VAT

Domestic retail gasoline prices updated on July 2 are as follows:

E5RON92 gasoline: Maximum 20,530 VND/liter.

RON95-III gasoline: Maximum 21,116 VND/liter.

Diesel 0.05S: Maximum 19,349 VND/liter.

Kerosene: Maximum 19,064 VND/liter.

Mazut oil 180CST 3.5S: Maximum 16,955 VND/kg.

The above prices were jointly announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance from 0:00 on July 1, applying the policy of reducing 2% VAT according to Resolution No. 204 of the National Assembly. In this adjustment, E5RON92 gasoline decreased by 101 VND/liter, RON95-III gasoline decreased by 128 VND/liter, diesel increased by 193 VND/liter, kerosene increased by 141 VND/liter, while mazut oil decreased by 668 VND/kg compared to the previous period.

This week, gasoline prices will be adjusted twice: the first time from July 1 to apply VAT reduction, and the second time on Thursday according to the regular adjustment schedule of the Decree on gasoline business management.
