The biggest challenge is at the preschool level.

Specifically, the recent Project "Making English the Second Language in Schools" of the Ministry of Education and Training emphasized that by 2030, it is necessary to add about 12,000 preschool English teachers, nearly 10,000 primary school English teachers, and 200,000 subject teachers capable of teaching in English.
Revolving around the above topic, experts in the fields of education and English had a meeting "Foreseeing the trend of teaching in English" on the afternoon of October 2 in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the program, PhD student Ha Dang Nhu Quynh, IELTS 9.0 and currently the academic director of DOL English, said that teaching English to preschoolers is very challenging because it requires teachers who are both specialized in preschool education and English. "Teachers need preschool expertise to understand the psychological characteristics of children and adjust their teaching methods, and they also need English expertise to help teachers ensure accurate teaching knowledge, especially pronunciation because this age group is very sensitive to imitation, and it is very difficult for children to correct their knowledge or pronunciation later," PhD student Nhu Quynh shared.
Master Tran Xuan Dieu, director of RAB Consulting, provided additional perspective: "In Finnish kindergartens, teachers must be the ones to create the curriculum and teach English, so teachers must have both preschool expertise and be good at foreign languages. Children in Finland learn English through many activities throughout the school, not through a certain English lesson. The teaching profession is classified as high-class in Finland, so teachers at all levels often have master's degrees and fluent English, so there are many opportunities for children to practice English very early."
Old, no talent for foreign languages… what to do ?
At the program, many questions were raised from teachers such as "how to learn English effectively when you are too busy?", "how to learn English for the elderly?", "where should teachers of subjects who have lost their English roots learn from?"...

Sharing her perspective, Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Anh, IELTS 8.5 and academic manager of DOL English, believes that the biggest barrier for teachers is not necessarily lack of knowledge or inability to learn English or old age, but the lack of a systematic methodology to acquire and convey knowledge and skills effectively. Ms. Ngoc Anh suggests referring to the Linearthinking method as a solution to help teach and learn thinking more clearly and effectively.
In short, Linearthinking is a method of learning English thinking, specially designed for Vietnamese people, with a combination of mathematical thinking, super memory techniques and research on the influence of mother tongue on learning English. This method has been researched and developed by the DOL English team, headed by Master Le Dinh Luc, since 2008 and is widely applied at DOL IELTS Dinh Luc Thinking English Academy. Linearthinking not only focuses on improving listening, speaking, reading and writing skills but also helps students practice logical thinking, systematize knowledge and apply language naturally and effectively.
In particular, DOL English's Linearthinking methodology is providing teachers with a logical "framework" for designing lessons, helping them teach students how to think instead of just teaching "what to remember". When teachers are equipped with a strong methodology, they can be more confident and proactive in teaching, thereby creating consistent and sustainable change.
In addition, NCS Nhu Quynh said that teachers cannot optimize teaching quality if they only provide discrete video lectures. She said that DOL English has "technologized" Linearthinking through the online learning ecosystem (SuperLMS and dolenglish.vn). The above ecosystem not only provides knowledge, but also provides a learning path according to personalized thinking. This system helps teachers in remote areas or at any age to still be able to learn on their own in a logical way, have AI correct errors and practice continuously.

In addition to advanced training, preschool and primary school teachers can learn and perfect their 4 English skills through resources such as Dolenglish.vn, TeachingEnglish channel (British Council) - Early Years/Primary section, LearnEnglish Kids channel (British Council)... pages designed for children to learn English with many games, songs, videos, stories and interactive activities suitable for preschool and primary school children.
