The ceremony was organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training. The program aims to create conditions for primary and secondary school students to review knowledge learned in class, while encouraging them to develop their self-study and creative thinking skills through conquering questions compiled by the organizers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Khac Cuong - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper - said that the Le Quy Don Prize in Ho Chi Minh City has been held for more than 30 years, attracting more and more students to participate. The scale of the prize is constantly expanding, becoming a professional and useful playground for students.
The students had the opportunity to experience and demonstrate their talents in many areas. Many students showed outstanding creativity, knowledge and skills, while also practicing life skills and understanding of history, culture and society.

After two rounds of competition including preliminary round and final round, the jury selected 124 outstanding students to be awarded prizes. Many schools in Ho Chi Minh City had outstanding number of entries, typically Le Van Tho Primary School (34,768 entries) and Nguyen Trai Secondary School (30,755 entries).
Le Ngoc Thanh Ha - valedictorian of grade 6, Nguyen An Khuong Secondary School - said this is the first time she has been valedictorian after 3 consolation prizes. This is the motivation for her to strive to be worthy of her title.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City - commented that to be present today, each student has gone through a challenging journey and many valuable experiences. Through each round of competition, the students not only practiced knowledge and skills but also learned perseverance, creativity and team spirit.

Students not only do their homework in familiar classrooms, but also participate in open spaces such as visiting and exploring historical sites, thereby applying their knowledge to solve practical situations. On August 16, Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City - on behalf of the organizing committee launched the Le Quy Don Award in the 31st Ho Chi Minh City Children's Publication and the 27th Red Scarf Publication. The competition will start at the beginning of the school year, with the competition content to be published in the publication.
The content of the exams is built according to the 2018 General Education Program, suitable for all current textbooks. The experiences are closely related to events and phenomena in daily life, helping students become more sensitive in handling and solving problems, in line with the criteria of "Playing while learning" for 30 years of Le Quy Don Award.
