Bac Ninh promotes universal education, eliminates illiteracy and student streaming

On October 1, according to the Office of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh, the Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to implement universal education , eliminate illiteracy and stream post-secondary students in the province, period 2025 - 2030.

The plan aims to improve people's knowledge, train human resources for the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country, meeting the needs of society. Thereby, building a learning society, creating conditions for all people to learn for life, contributing to the sustainable development of Bac Ninh province.

Accordingly, Bac Ninh strives to mobilize 100% of 5-year-old children to go to school; 100% of communes and wards maintain solid results of universal preschool education (PCGD) for 5-year-old children; the number of 5-year-old children with learning disabilities who have access to education reaches 90%. Before 2030, Bac Ninh province will meet the standards of PCGD for preschool children aged 3-5. Maintain the rate of 6-year-old children entering grade 1 at 100%; at least 98% of children with learning disabilities have access to education; 100% of communes and wards meet the standards of PCGD for primary school level 3...

Along with that, strive to have the rate of youth aged 15-18 graduating from junior high school reach 98.5% or higher; maintain 100% of communes and wards meeting the level 3 PCGD junior high school standards; the province meeting the level 3 PCGD junior high school standards. Maintain the number of people aged 15-35 completing the level 2 XMC program at 100%; maintain 100% of communes and wards meeting the level 2 XMC standards; the province maintaining the level 2 XMC standards.

Strive to have at least 50% of high school graduates continue their studies in the system of vocational education institutions by 2030. Ensure that middle and high schools have teachers (or staff) in charge of career counseling who are trained, qualified, and operate effectively; about 50% of the province's workforce is retrained and trained to improve skills through continuing education and vocational training programs.
