Over the years, Nui Thanh Market has operated relatively well, with sufficient goods to meet the buying and selling needs of customers in Nui Thanh town and neighboring areas such as Tam My Dong, Tam My Tay, Tam Giang, Tam Hiep, etc.

Thanks to relatively stable operations, in 2024 the market generated total revenue of over 1.9 billion VND, reaching 94.6% of the projected target, bringing the total revenue surplus to over 5.3 billion VND. However, in recent years, traders have faced considerable difficulties.

The reasons for this are the development of convenience stores, specialty shops, and the rise of online businesses. On the other hand, traditional markets operate slowly, lacking innovation in terms of business models and product offerings, thus failing to attract visitors and shoppers.

This is why many small traders are not enthusiastic about doing business in the market. Currently, most of the stalls in the corrugated iron buildings are closed, not conducting business, leading to low rental revenue (approximately 67% of the projected amount).

The auctioning of market stalls also faced many difficulties and shortcomings. The stalls selling fish, meat, spices, pickles, etc., were auctioned over a three-year period (from March 2023 to March 2026), with service fees collected once and sanitation fees collected annually. The auction results showed only 156 out of 203 stalls were successfully auctioned, and in 2024, an additional four stalls ceased operations, leading to a decrease in the market's revenue.

According to Mr. Truong Van Nhan, Deputy Head of the Nui Thanh Market Management Board, in order for Nui Thanh Market to develop smoothly in the current diverse market conditions, Nui Thanh district is reviewing current regulations to invest in infrastructure at Nui Thanh Market - the district center, a hub for many distribution points.
